It is more rare to find a Japanese restaurant focused on non-sushi/bento items here in North America so for the specialty factor alone I think this place is worth trying. The service and quality of food was excellent.
I loved both the butter Yaki and Special Mentaiko onigiri. The grilled/charred flavor of the cheese paired with mentaiko gave it a bold and unique flavor. I also ordered the Oyako Ochazuke with original dashi broth. This was alright in my opinion but a bit plain and one dimensional in flavour. If I were to order ochazuke again I would definitely order it with green tea instead of dashi.

First time trying out an onigiri restaurant, and everything was excellent! Highly recommend going with a group so you can try as many dishes as possible. All the food pairs really well with drinks, and they have a great selection of drinks to choose from!

Get there before the rush all parties must be present before being seated. Food was very good.
The ume onigiri was delicious and loved the salted salmon ochazuke. Both highly recommended. The cheese onigiri was different but surprisingly good. Not overly cheesy. Had a chance to try the katsu don, nice and crispy served over hot rice. The piri kara buta bara don was specially good as well. The oyako don was delicious too. Our luncheon was so yum, we rolled out happy and full!

Love their food. Found the restaurant through Instagram and the food doesn’t disappoint. We ordered mentaiko and sake onigiri, unagi musubi with curry noodle.
My favorite was the unagi musubi - it had the best taste with perfectly sauced eel with soft eggs wrapped with rice and seaweed. Id definitely come back to order it.
For drink - id recommend matcha lemonade! It has bitter taste from matcha that goes well with sweet lemonade.
Only downside was that parking require to be on street and there’s not a lot of seats.

Lovely hidden gem with great onigiris and other Japanese fare. It was pretty difficult to find as there is not a big sign out front, but it is located where it says on Google Maps!

Cozy, fresh and lively is what I would describe tsukushinbo. Food was amazing. Not just sushi, the beef tongue and other were amazing as well. Picture don’t lie and I have already been there 2x. Will visit again when I’m in seattle next time.

(June 2023)
I really enjoyed this restaurant. I went pretty late but they were good about keeping the wait-list going until ~45 min before close and didn't rush us after close. Wait was about 20 min outside, be prepared for that. I almost left, but I'm glad I decided to stay.
They were out of a lot of things, the saddest one being all the donburi. We got the curry udon noodle and it was very yummy. I also tried the karaage onigiri and tuna mayo onigiri. Both were good but I prefer the tuna mayo.
We got the noodle bowl to split between 2 and it ended up being the perfect amount. I'm also really happy that they offered to split the bowl because normally servers won't ask. We were struggling to finish our bowls actually because they were so big, and I enjoyed the spicyness of the bowl as well. I really feel like I got good value from my meal.
I wish their restaurant was larger because we were very close to the tables next to us and it was a little uncomfortable. I also hope that they consider adding more onigiri options with spicy mayo instead of just mayo.
I'd love to come again and try their donburi and other onigiris.

Update July 2023
I came back one month after my last visit because I wanted to try other dishes from here. Here's my verdict: stick to the curry noodles, they are the star of the show!
I tried the eel onigiri and thought it was decent, but it didn't come pre wrapped like the others did which was odd.
I tried the sake (salmon) ochazuke and I really do not recommend it. It was too salty and felt like I was mostly drinking hot salty water. And I had the katsu donbori which was basic normal katsu curry. You can get the same thing at Hurry Curry for way less waiting time. Stick to the curry noodles!
I am still asking for a spicy mayo + tuna onigiri :)

Onibaba's selection and quality is outstanding and were quite possibly the best onigiri I've ever tried! The rice was delicious, the toppings were fresh, and the nori was the perfect consistency to still provide a nice crunch while also being just soft enough. I ordered the sake (salmon) and ume (Japanese plum), and my wife ordered the Ebi Mayo (tempura shrimp and mayo) and the yaki onigiri with sweet miso paste (all pictured) -- and everything was just absolutely delicious!
This place is undoubtedly worth your time, especially if you like or have always wanted to try onigiri!
ごちそさまでした!
