This is my favorite brunch spot in Seattle! The Stamp Act coffee and General Porpoise donuts are phenomenal every time. Love that they change up the menu pretty frequently so there's always something new to try. I've only been once for dinner and it was exceptional. The whale wins always wins.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my life. The food was phenomenal. The atmosphere was super cozy. We were on the patio under heat lamps and ate our meal right beside a lovely magnolia that was growing through the roof. Our server was knowledgeable about both the food menu and the wines and cocktails. Greta, the manager, took great care of us too. The entire experience was everything and more.

Everything we tried on the menu was incredibly delicious - stand outs were definitely the pork chop and gnocchi. Zucchini bread and Eton mess were quite good for dessert. Really cool ambience and loved perusing the attached store area. Service was lovely, and it was an excellent dinner from start to finish.

Everything was really good. I love restaurants where you order multiple different things and just share it with everybody so you get to try a lot more different things that way. Good service and good drinks too.

I like this place a lot. I ordered the serrano ham and potato leek soup. Both were yummy but both were also very heavy on the olive oil.. It's kind of like the high-end version of restaurants who just add a lot of salt or sugar to food. There must be a balance with the amount of olive oil as well.
The environment is nice and casual. Oddly, they have hip hop music over the speaker which I like but is an interesting fit with the rest of the place. The service is friendly, fast and excellent.
Overall, I would come again and bring your friend.

Love the Whale Wins!!! it’s always been a favorite dinner place of ours but we tried their brunch recently and loved it! we were able to walk in with 4 people, and LOVED everything we had! especially the brunch cocktails!

Wonderful dining experience at The Whale Wins! Very similar ambiance and experience to The Walrus and Carpenter in Ballard, without the oysters.
We loved the family style ordering so that we could try several things on the menu that were all fantastic and carefully crafted. Our server coursed our picks out for us and was very attentive and kind, even going out of her way to make our anniversary dinner special.
Cocktails were all a hit, so much so that I had to try all four that they had on their menu, and the servers champagne choice was delicious as well.
They even have a little storefront right by the entrance of the restaurant that you walk past if you use their restroom. Carrying things from locally made gelato, craft beers, wines, to kitchen ingredients and merchandise from the restaurant. We couldn’t help but grab a few things on our way out.
Ill definitely be curious to come back in the future to try any new menu items and I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the Fremont area looking for a good meal.

Yummy absolutely amazing french lunch. Sit down enjoy a glass of rose. Sample plates from pickled vegetables to a smoked halibut dip. This place is a wonderful stop for food lovers.
They also have a lovely selection of local vermouth

Great place for small plates! We had the scallops, parisienne gnocchi, and olives. Great ambiance on the patio; staff were friendly and very knowledgeable on menu items. However the menu in its presentation felt a bit pretentious in our opinion. It's impossible to know what portions you're receiving by menu alone, as it lacks section headers for starters, entrées, etc. Again staff were helpful with this and flavors were delicious, but the warm and casual vibe of the restaurant was a confusing juxtaposition with the menu for us. All things considered, it is a great stop in a beautiful location!

To start, I have got to say that I had one of the best dining experiences at The Whale Wins.
The entire serving staff went above and beyond what was needed or required to give a wonderful dining experience. They were able to answer any question, help with allergy and dietary restrictions, as well as suggestion great food.
The food itself was great, as to expect from this restaurant.
The shareable plates were all unique, fresh, and thoughtfully plated.
My significant other tried the half chicken, and it was the best chicken she has ever had. I have no idea how they were able to cook the chicken so tender.
I would recommend getting a reservation a few days out in advanced as it can get busy on the weekends.
