Brown Bag Sub Shoppe

We loved Brown Bag on Altamont ave, have not had one negative experience there! Nice customer service, friendly staff, delicious food! The Union st location, however has burned me 3 times now to the point that I will no longer order from there for the foreseeable future. The first time we ordered through door dash, we got two taco salads, one without rice and one with guacamole on the side and no jalapeños. They both had jalapeños and they both had guacamole on top but one had no rice so they obviously read the notes but didn’t follow them all and didn’t call to confirm as to why they couldn’t accommodate it but it could’ve been an innocent mistake, ok. The second time we ordered 4 buffalo chicken paninis on wraps and one of them randomly came on bread ok fine, irritating for the one person who didn’t get what they wanted. Then today we placed a group order from work only to get a phone call from door dash saying Brown Bags systems were down and they never received it. Ok fine, not your fault BUT apparently when my coworker was speaking to the pick up girl from door dash the manager refused to speak to my coworker and try to rectify the problem so she had to call door dash and cancel the order and get her refund. As far as I’m concerned if I were a business owner or manager I’d want to do whatever I could to fix the problem if it were my “fault” or not. Yelling at the door dash girl in the background with attitude and saying you refuse to even be involved and help completely lost some loyal customers! Bad customer service!

Two days in a row this week, we stopped by here for an easy dinner option.... and the shop was closed during their posted hours. Friday they closed at 7:30 - people were inside but wouldn't open the door for us. Saturday they were closed when I went by around 6:30 - a neighbor said she was in around 3 and they were planning to close then because they were having a slow day. Hope this is not the beginning of the end for this location. Unfortunately, we can no longer count on it being open when we need something quick and easy.

I’d love to write a review on the food but every time we try to go it’s closed (Union street location). Showed up today at 2:30 and they were closed despite what their hours said online. Was not the first time we have gone at normal business hours and they have been closed. Silly us for thinking “Hey! Let’s try again and maybe we’ll be lucky and they won’t be lazy today”. Can we just close it down already and put in a business that actually holds business hours??

Asked for avocados, got a brown mush that is at least a day past an acceptable state to serve a customer. Bread was dry and sucked, but the oxidized avocado made this basically inedible. Please don't serve people brown avocados. It's disgusting. So glad I spent $20 to have GrubHub deliver me this inedible garbage.

First timer here. Told is was good so when I was in the area for lunch I tried it. I decided to try a staple of sub shops, the roast beef and swiss sandwich. Terrible service and worse food. I can't bring myself to give them a second chance when there are so many other sub shops nearby. If you think 'Subway' is good then you'll be fine with this place. If you like places like Gershon's or even DiBella's you will not care for this.
