Denny's

I suppose the first red flag would be that the restaurant was nearly empty at a 7 pm on a Friday. The second red flag was certainly the smell of... human effluence in the entryway to the restaurant. A dirty napkin wrapping a utensil on the table should have really been the cue to beat cheeks to another dinner location. Alas, we prevailed and were as exactly as disappointed as I figured we'd be. Now, I'll say that my special order burger with a chicken breast instead of beef was actually pretty good. It was made right and hot, and the fries were fresh and seasoned well. Everyone else's dinner orders were a bit of a mess. One dining companion got the Chik 'n' Honey sandwich and said it was bland and over saturated with sauce. Diner the third ordered an appetizer sampler got the wrong items on the plate. She was able to get one item subbed out with no issue but the fries that should have been on the platter were still missing. Drinks were served without straws and the appetizer was missing a dipping sauce. We never get the straws and had to ask twice for the sauce before it finally showed up. It seems like the kitchen is turning out at least decent food, but the sullen server who had our section seemed he'd rather be anywhere but here. At least the other two working other parts of the dining room seemed to care about their jobs and even checked on us a few times. Maybe this is par for the course for Denny's, but it seemed like a real bottom of the barrel experience in a town that deserves better, even if it's "just a chain diner"...

Bathroom has a code to enter so I’m suspicious. It’s pretty shabby. Dinner tables are sticky so I’m even more worried. But our server was super! Our baby was fussy and she brought some fish crackers and grapes right away. Crisis averted. She took care of everything. So nice to see a server go the extra mile. The food was great too. My wife has a sirloin and I had the Slamwich with pancakes. Way too much to eat. I just finished my leftovers. Still great Hopefully they can fix the broken shabby bathroom and shine the place up a bit.

Ordered the t-bone steak dinner & the chicken skillet. The chicken skillet dinner was great, but the T-bone steak dinner was ordered medium-rare, it came medium well, barely pink. Sent it back and waited 20 minutes for the re-cook. The t-bone that came back was very thin(compared to the first), and cooked medium at best. This time with the old broccoli and no garlic bread, and the same mashed & gravy when I sent it back. The server was lost. Gave him a 9$ tip, just cause people need the money, but, Dennys, you did not deserve my patronage. Your service left me wanting. You owe me a proper steak dinner!

The food is fine. It's the service I can't stand. I had to stand at the front kiosk for almost ten mins before being seated, then after I ordered, it was like I ceased to exist. And I know it wasn't because it was busy. I was one of three tables. Once the check was brought, the waiter disappeared again. I didn't have cash, so I had to wait. Finally he rang me out. I left a couple bucks as a tip (the bill was like, $10) and the waiter scoffed at me. I won't be going back.

As we first walked in this restaurant we walked into just an awful smell of sewage. We should have left but were on a time limit to eat breakfast before attending an all day event. We were seated away from the smell thankfully. Our waiter took our order then we proceeded to wait for our food. 20 min later our waiter came back to confirm our order. So, we ended up waiting a total of 40 min for our food. While we were waiting the only thing we could here was the employees yelling at each other on how to do their job. My daughter's food was the strawberry hushpuppies they ended up burnt and hard. Overall, the ham omelette was delicious.
