Copper Cricket

My mother, great nephew, my husband, our son and daughter and myself at here about 3pm. We love irsh food and always went to Squires pub in Southern pines (my mom lives in Vass and my household and great nephew live in SC.) We ordered 2 appetizers (bacon Mozzarella sticks and spinach artichoke dip.) We travel a lot and eat out a lot (we have traveled to 44 of the 50 states) and we agreed the dip was our favorite EVER, the mozzarella sticks were yummy. We ordered a wide variety of items kids sliders meal, Philly cheese steak, cottage pie, Irish chicken, Dublin sandwich, and the Gone to Carolina. We couldn't pick a favorite item. Our waitress Samantha was Awesome and even serving everyone in the restaurant by her self (I would guess about 30 people ) she was on top of things. We enjoyed EVERYTHING about the visit, the restaurant was nice and clean, the bathrooms were clean, the bar looked inviting,the server was awesome and the food was GREAT AND VERY AFFORDABLE. $115 for 2 apps, 5 adult meals, 1 kids meal 5 soda/tea drinks and 1 large glass of wine. We have found our new SPOT to eat out everytime I visit family from Sc which can be 2-3 times a month. I didn't get pictures of everyone's meals but here are a few I took.

Nice restaurant. We had a large group and was seated immediately. Our waitress did an outstanding job. She was on top of everything. Everyone's food look delicious. I ordered the Irish spring rolls and garlic parmesan wings. Who ever came up with the Irish spring rolls, they are a genius. They are to die for. They where even good cold later that night. The wing really had no flavor. Did not taste any garlic or see any parmesan on them. They are usually buttery and you can see the garlic and parmesan, also most are a little salty from the parmesan. These were none of this. Get there before music starts if they are going to have it. It was so loud you had the scream to talk to the person next to you. As always the Irish beer was outstanding, wish I would have had a driver that night. Lol.

Got the fish n chips. Fish was small and salty served with a tarter that comes with capers? (Which are salty also), I’ll be back to driving 4 hrs to get fish and chips. Also ordered the Philly that’s what in the first photo,paid to add other toppings and got a smidge. It was small didn’t resemble any Philly we’ve ever had before lil bit of fries with all orders (were like dry old cold cardboard). For the price and the type of atmosphere figured it’d be something to recommend. Honestly I hate leaving rough reviews but we were excited to try and now just apologizing to one another. Good looking place and hostess seemed nice.

My husband and my first time here. We got sat quickly, but I was skeptical for a minute because it was about 8 minutes before the server came to our table. I ordered Fish n chips & my husband ordered bangers n mash. We both enjoyed our meals and the service got better. We went on a Friday nite and they had a live band. We made sure we told management how good the food & service was. Will we return....heck yes😊

Four of us stopped for dinner. Not too busy. We were greeted and seated. Drinks ordered all good there. Waitress was friendly. 2 Shepard's pies were ordered, overall taste was good, a bit too much grease. 1 order of Bangers and Mash, was ok but would not reorder. 1 order of Fish and Chips. Fish was small and coating was over done. Smelled like old oil and fries undercooked. Peeled off coating and fish itself was good. Sauce for fish was great. Asked if the bartender cook make a spicy Margarita, was not the best. Will talk about trying it again. Pricing fair

*updated review* Pre COVID we used to eat here a couple times a week from the time they opened until the big shut down. Food and service were excellent. During COVID Cricket at the Creek opened. Now that is the only restaurant that gets brunch on the weekends. We have had several instances over the last year after everything opened for dining in where we waited an hour or more for our food to come out (restaurant wasn't on a wait or over full), and a couple times we had to ask for the check and cancel the food because it didn't come out after an hour and we weren't even able to get more bar drinks for lack of service. There is a new chef at this restaurant now and he is bringing lots of new and fresh ideas to the restaurant, and speed for food out of the kitchen is improving. They offer things like trivia night or DJ bingo, but the music gets dance club loud by 630-7 pm on those nights and if you're trying to eat dinner at a nice family friendly restaurant having to scream over the music to be heard at dinner is not enjoyable. It would be nice if things like weekend brunch were offered at the "main" restaurant and not just the one in an exclusive gated community since there are literally no other restaurants in Western Harnett offering breakfast or brunch that don't have a drive through. I still eat here on occasion and I hope it gets back to it's former glory, but it has been frustrating for the last 12-18 months.

I visited around 9pm on a Saturday. The place wasn't busy, but more people where coming in by the time I left. I had the cottage pie. The first time it was brought out, it was still cold. They quickly prepared another and it was delicious. The service was good. I will likely stop in at least one more time while I'm visiting the area.
