Wiener Works

The hot dogs are snappy like Casper Dogs if you're a bay area native. The buns are super soft and fresh. The fries are cut and cooked to order. A tiny fry is enough to share with two people and a small is actually gigantic. The staff today wasn't too helpful and seemed a little annoyed at any questions. The hotdogs come absolutely naked unless you order toppings, which if you didn't know before you got there the staff wasn't going to tell ya. Because they are only open 11-3 there were quite a few people in their line so I didn't want to waste their time. Fortunately there is mustard and ketchup available on the counter but everything else costs extra, so order the hot dog you want to begin with. The bagel dog was the bagel dog of our youth with the bagel bun with the shriveled hotdog inside but they cut it open and put toppings in it, if you knew how to order it. There were lots of regulars in there today and the staff seemed only slightly less annoyed with them. So it might have been an off day. I'll go back and try again now that I figured out how to

A really good hole in the wall hot dog place. There are very few (MAINLY) hot dog places in general that you can choose from but in lucky that I live in the area because even though a little pricey, it is well worth it. The sizes of fries still remains the same even after my first time visiting more than 15 years ago while still in school. Their "small" size order of fries is probably equivalent to a fast food restaurants large order x2 to x3. And they slice the potatoes as you order. Highly recommend if you are in the Sacramento area.
