Cafe Bernardo

I only intended to pop in for a coffee and a light bite to-go during a hectic day but... then I saw the menu. Eggs and bacon need to be eaten fresh, right? Oh, and they have pancakes. Oh, they keep refilling my coffee. Oh, they gave our dog his own water bowl. Oh, KIMCHI FRIED RICE. So we stayed and ate all the things until our hearts and bellies were full. And the rest of our day went really smoothly :) I can't wait to return-- they have happy hour specials almost every weekday, and their cocktail list looks really fun!

A big fan of this place - came here almost every day for 2 weeks straight! Their menu is different for lunch and dinner and the service is very quick. I especially like their salad sampler options where you can combine multiple salads in one. The lattes are also really big, served in bowls(!) and they have a great location with plenty of seating, inside and out!

Experience today was definitely a good one! Both bartender and manager on were attentive and active in putting out drink and food orders while also keeping a welcoming environment and addressing any issues that arose. Overheard one person saying something about food being slow but you can hardly blame the waitresses, bartenders or even management if it's a busy day🤷‍♂️ everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves! 10/10 recommend

I stopped by here for breakfast waiting for my car to get smogged which was about a 45 minute wait. Seating was immediate. Didn’t have to wait at all. The place was clean and well kept just like all the other Cafe Bernardo’s I’ve been to. This is my first time at the downtown location. I ordered a 2 egg scramble with side of potatoes and toast. All served pretty quick and tasted good. Service was standard. Server was nice and took my order. But waiting for the check and getting change took between 10-15 minutes. Overall, good experience dining here except for the wait at the end getting my check and my change. Restaurant (5/5). Food (5/5). Service (4/5). Value/Price Ratio (5/5). Overall experience (4.5/5).
