Temple Coffee

The place is right next to the very convenient co-op supermarket. The parking is a little tight with a ‘2-hour’ parking sign. It was really quiet when I was there since it was just opening and nobody was open other than them. It has a nice place to sit outside and the baristas were nice. They have good coffee; I had a regular latte. But I can't help but think about the $7 lattes though. If I remember correctly, they may have the most expensive lattes in town. I don't understand it.

Line out the door, and the staff still had time to make eye contact, smile, ask how my day was going, recommend a pastry. They were still all moving like lightning in order to get people their drinks, and the drinks were still all being finished with cute little foam flourishes, but they seemed well staffed and they worked like a team of highly skilled professionals. Great experience.

I absolutely love this place. Hands down the best espresso/coffee/tea I've ever had. The downside is the looooong lines that can leave you standing outside for a little while at times. That said, I would go every day if I had the time. The reason for the line is clear once you've enjoyed your beverage. The staff is also awesome and knowledgeable if you have questions about any of their offerings.

Coffee at this place is delicious. I had an espresso drink and the espresso was very smooth and delicious. I owned a coffee shop for a number of years and have a good handle on quality coffee. The baristas do a great job of making the drinks with style. The atmosphere is solid with a ton of people doing school or work on their electronic devices and there is lots of seating outside. Prices are a bit high which I am sure deterred some but overall it is a great place.

We are fortunate to have so many great coffee shops in Sacramento. That being said, Temple is my favorite. I've been to a few of their locations and the S Street location is my go to. My husband and I love it. This shop is typically busy and for good reason. If there is a line don't be discouraged. It moves pretty quick thanks to the efficient employees. Everyone is friendly, atmosphere is great. Coffee is so many levels above that chain shop that's on every corner. One thing I love is that I can order a hot coffee and it'll be hot, not warm like a lot of places. I've been drinking good coffee since the 90's and the days of Java City so I need my coffee hot! Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Little hard to find unless you map it... But well worth it once found... really cool outdoor patio area to chill and relax. Service was great and if you're not from town they're more than happy to give you ideas on what to do in the area. The Mocha was on point. All the pastries looked amazing the creme blueberry muffin was delicious.
