Mother

Been here a few times and always a wonderful culinary delight...Once again we had an outstanding meal, we shared dishes of fried tomatoes, Brussel sprouts, bean soup with foccacia, house made pasta with mushrooms.....everything was fantastic!!!..can't wait to visit again.....I'm not a vegetarian but just really enjoy good food..everything was so delicious 😋

Kind greetings at entering. My husband and I were seated immediately indoors on a Tuesday evening. Ordered the Butternut Squash Latke along with the wedge fries. Plating: beautiful and flavor: delicious and fresh ingredients. I'm glad we shared this dish because the photo is 1/2 of what was served. Experience was so good, we are going to return.

We are visiting Sacramento, and ate at Mother last night. I am a plant-based eater; my husband is not (but, he enjoyed his fried green tomato caprese and focaccia dinner. He didn't even need to eat a burger later, lol). I loved the options on the menu! It was difficult to make a choice. I went with the pumpkin green curry with garlic rice. It was fantastic!! The veggies were all perfectly cooked and the sauce was scrumptious. As for atmosphere, I guess I was a little uncomfortable talking about certain subjects with my partner when other patrons were sitting so close. I'm a very private, quiet sort of person. But, it wouldn't put me off from returning!!

Our second visit to Mother. Our first visit, everything was great. Food and service were outstanding. Tonight, we had my brother and his wife join us. They are basically vegetarians so we thought they would enjoy Mother. And they did. We ordered the curry dish, lasagne and mushroom po’boys. Everything was tasteful. We kinda messed up the dinner was the apple dessert the ladies each ordered. The pastry was burnt and boy could you taste it in the apples. We enjoyed the mains but the dessert was awful. And they don’t serve coffee. The service was outstanding!! I suggested we walk a block for coffee and dessert. We went to Ginger Elizabeth’s and had tasty desserts and excellent coffee. Mother is a place to go, but skip the dessert, .

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Mother bc my 12 year old grandson has gone vegetarian since January 2023. The food was delightful and I did not miss meat! The Po’boy Sandwich was so good and the house made potato chips have spoiled me for life now! I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone!
