Fun take on Southern cooking. Had the fried chicken, cheesy grits, collard greens. Deep fried beets we're the bomb. Well for me at least. Patient pleasant staff gave it a familiar feel. Bartender friendly and willing to work with your tastes. Didn't hit a home run but a solid double for sure. If I'm back in Sac I'd return for sure. If you're not familiar with Southern cooking go slow. Collard greens are for real, but might intimidate an unfamiliar palette.

Love this place for atmosphere and a Saturday breakfast or brunch! We got lucky because the Midtown Farmers Market is going on a block away! So we were so happy to do a lovely digestion and shop stroll after breakfast. We ordered the two egg breakfast with Biscuits and Gravy, the skillet cornbread and the beets. The server gets so many points to making sure the eggs were over medium and not over easy! The Porch got it right! The biscuits and gravy that came with his meal were underwhelming which was a surprise! Everything else was delicious! The biscuits were dense and gravy cold. With that said, I was thrilled with my skillet corn bread and house made jam along with the beets! Oh my goodness, I threw my beets in the air fryer to eat for 3 more days! So good! Our server was amazing as well as all the staff. Very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The atmosphere gets my vote for wonderful all the way. So cozy and felt very much like we were on a camping trip and stopped in at the log cabin restaurant on the way home. There were many items on the menu I wanted to try, so we will definitely be back!

We were in town for Aftershock festival and I checked out this spot for lunch, it was definitely worth it! It was a Thursday early afternoon so there was no waiting, we sat down at the bar and the nice lady with cool colored hair served us drinks, place had a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Service was really good and food was delicious, I loved their cornbread, is a must try! My friend had the chicken an waffles and their fried chicken was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

We ordered several items, everything was delicious. But the skillet cornbread was a level above. Real comfort food, warm and perfectly cooked, paired with the seasonal jam... Incredible. After a tough week, tasting it brought up emotions... A strange feeling to be moved by food, but that's the power of good food made with care. Our server was excellent! Kind and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about the menu and knew the exact right amount to check in on us. We will be going back!

The Sunday brunch Brisket & Biscuit was DELICIOUS! We were in the area and looking for last minute outdoor brunch eating and came upon this nice restaurant. Unfortunately, because we didn't have reservations the outdoor front porch area was booked so we sat at the bar and had a great meal. I'll definitely try it again with reservations, the next time I'm in the area.

Food was reasonably priced for what we got. Bill was just around $100, four meals and two appetizers, I feel like that’s super fair considering the average cost to dine out. Pretty sure if we had gotten some of the alcoholic beverages the bill might have tipped the scale, but fortunately I don’t like the taste of alcohol and the others in my group, were my kids. lol Apart from the unusually long wait, 45+ minutes just to get water, it was everything I expected from them.

This is probably my new favorite spot on 'The Grid! I took the whole family here for my mothers birthday brunch because I heard it was a great spot (yes, a little risky) but was pleasantly surprised! It has a warm, welcoming country style ambiance and homey decorating. 0Lets start with the food, we ordered 2 plates of beignets and that was an amazing experience! They loaded them up with fresh fruit, home made jam and of course, fresh fried beignets. I ordered a bloody mary and that was on-point too. More on that later. There were so many amazing selection that I had a really hard time ordering. After 20 questioning the waitress, I (finally) ordered the Brisket & Biscuit. IT WAS AMAZING! I especially liked the kick of spice that they added to the hollandaise and brisket sauce. One of the other things I really liked about the place is that they have a fine list of bourbons and do a tasting event once or twice a week. If I lived in the 916 still I would definitely hit that up! Anyways, if you are in the area I would definitely go experience it yourself. You won't have the wait of Tower, Bernardo's Fox and Goose or anything like that.

California meets the south, and what a tasty blend! We made a reservation for 7 the day before (required a credit card that would be charged $10 if we didn’t show). Table was ready for us during the prime time of brunch. Skye took care of our group, including accommodating one group member with limited time and one with lots of allergies. Super service! Food was fabulous! We ordered all three salads— yum!!! Loved the beignets which made for a great item to share with everyone, and it came with fresh fruit and jam. The mimosas (orange, pineapple, or cranberry) had lots of champagne. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles (if a fried chicken fan). Biscuits are wonderful, but chicken strip a smaller portion. Lemonade is California sweet, not Southern sweeeeet. Tried the vegan stir fry… appreciate it on the menu, but room for improvement (more veggies and vegan pork, please). Great place for one or a large group. Indoor and outdoor seating. Noise level of conversation is high but lively at busy times.

First off, the service here is excellent. The gentleman that served us was hysterical and so friendly. Def an inviting atmosphere. We ordered the mimosa package which makes like 6 glasses. Not a bad deal at all! We also got a few extra bottles of champagne since we had leftover juice. The biscuit and gravy was the BEST! I usually like to try them everywhere I go and this was too notch. The chicken and waffles were delish. Loads of chicken tenders on top. The bacon was the salty kick it needed. I’d def get that again. My friends loved the Mac n cheese, beignets, and burger. I can’t wait to go back and try the shrimp po boy which I hear is divine! This place is a MUST GO. Should be #1 on your list of brunch places in the area.
