Mr Joe

A real find in Burnley Street. The seasonal courses are expertly prepared and extremely delicious. The food is fantastic and prepared beautifully - what you see on Instagram is what you get! The "watermelon jerky" was a very creative and delcious fruity play! The chef has some great skills and we are returning for dinner again soon. Highly recommend giving it a try, particularly if you are local to Burnley.

My associates and I booked ourselves in for some bottomless cocktails and what an excellent decision it was. Each cocktail provided the perfect accompaniment to our many agenda items that were discussed. If I am lucky enough to meet Mr. Joe in the future, I will shake his hand because the food, drinks and ambience were lovely. 4 stars.

Such a disappointing night. Fish was cold as a main -completely unacceptable. My husband’s meal arrived and l didn’t want his meal spoiled so encouraged him to eat. l was offered a new meal from menu! So, as a thank you l ordered an entree as l was eating alone, because my husband finished his meal. Such a horrible experience. Then when we paid, completely over charged. The waiter did his best- no criticism of him at all. The chef should have come to our table. No one else in restaurant. Very unimpressed. No wonder no one in restaurant on a beautiful Friday night! Never again.

Disappointed with the bottomless brunch at Mr Joe. Went for a friends birthday, party of 11, and Mr Joe wouldn't sit us together. Instead we sat at two separate tables, not close enough to talk (some backs facing each other). When asked if we could please push tables together we were ignored, with staff saying they would check and then not returning. Cocktails tasted great but were small and very watered down. Not even slightly tipsy after 7 cocktails is not what we we expecting considering the cost. The food was good but not great, but both food and drink came out fast which was a plus.

Decent - bit dull inside, but the service from The 2 batted well above their means. Disappointed with the multiple changes and reductions in menus from booking 3 weeks ago to today…. Not really acceptable to constantly change the menu for what someone has booked for, literally spoke to them on Friday to confirm the booking and the menu they read out was reduced only 24 hours later - same menu, except minus ricotta etc… For me, you shouldn’t be able to lure in customers on a price and menu, to then reduce the offering whilst charging the same - bit cheeky.

I booked the $65pp bottomless brunch at Mr Joe which looks great from their professional Instagram photos. We were extremely disappointed with the cut up chicken and warmed up dumplings chucked on a board in front of us. The “bao” was actually a bread roll with cold meat and avocado inside it, and the tacos were made with the soft coles tortillas made cold. The drinks were in plastic cups all marked and not washed properly. We had around 6 or 7 drinks and weren’t even tipsy, they must’ve put nearly no spirits in the “cocktails”.
