Would definitely give Burmese House Restaurant more stars if I could. Mimi, the owner was super, super nice and accommodating. We had our daughter’s 21st birthday party there. Mimi opened the restaurant specially for our private function at lunch time. The menu she suggested was a crowd pleaser. Every dish was cooked with love and we can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you Mimi for such a special day!!!!!

We have been customers of Burmese House since it opened. Excellent quality and delicious flavours. Still loving the chicken and prawn stirs fries, beef curries, coconut rice and roti after all these years.

Literally just before lockdown part 2, my partner and I had dinner here again. The service is lovely, really genuinely friendly and happy. The beers like Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale is great and the food very good. The list of vegetarian dishes were limited but we shared a sour vegetable curry. The curry had a nice mild flavour with a small amount of vegetables. I had a lamb curry which had some good flavour and the meat was tender. The servings appeared small, but they were suprisingly filling. The service was quick and attentive. I'd happily go back again. Unfortunately I deleted some of my photos so now I'll have to go back lol! Previous review - October 2018 One of the main reasons I initially started food blogging, was to travel the world of food with my partner and to try different cuisines in Melbourne. And I haven't eaten Burmese before so I was excited to visit this restaurant. I had dinner here w my partner and we enjoyed some great food. W a kitchen in the middle of the restaurant I felt like I was at home, well almost lol We stared w roti bread which was ok but the chickpea sauce was delicious. For mains we had a chicken and cashew dish which was amazing, so tasty! The chicken was great and the sauce was excellent. The other main we enjoyed was egg noodles w chicken coconut masala green curry. This was really tasty too. We were given some dried chilli to accompany this dish, which was good as this dish lacked some spice for me. But overall the service was good and the concept excellent. I’d be happy to go back anytime.

Authentic Burmese food. Flavourful and generous serves. Good prices and friendly family atmosphere. Long serving head waiter knows everyone and they greet her like an old friend. We enjoyed Tea leaf salad, long melon fritters with tamarind chilli dipping sauce. Egg noodle coconut chicken soup mild flavour...add your own lemon juice and fish sauce with raw onion. Rosella leaves curry with Bamboo shoot and prawns...spicy. Burmese tea for two is a large leaf green tea pot brewed.

Came here on a Saturday night at about 6. By 7 it was pretty much full. Service was quick at the beginning but then got really slow during the night. I felt that maybe they were short staffed. I saw one person from upstairs come downstairs to get some service. Despite this the food was beautiful and very flavoursome. We ordered the fish cake, fish soup, stir fry chicken and the tea salad which was by far my favourite. The crisp of the tea leaf combined with the crunch of the fried beans and the zest and saltiness of the light dressing makes you keep wanting more. Despite the slow service I would come back to try the other dishes on the menu. Would suggest going with a large group to try more dishes at once!

On the way to the restaurant for some reason we thought the food will taste like Thai food where you have sour, salty and a little spicy. We ordered 3 of the supposedly popular dish in Burma. Rice noodle in fish soup, tealeaf salad, and prawn stir fried with roselle leaves. The food unfortunately were pretty bland in our opinion. Nothing wrong with it, just lacking that oomph. Food - 4 Service - 5 Vibe - 6
