I went last Sunday night because it was new and I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There were not many people and the table layout is refreshing because they are not bunched together. They are spaced and makes you feel at ease. We were advised the fish (rock ling) and mussels were fresh so I decided to try out the mussels for first course, I also ordered a plate of asparagus which were beautiful. I steam our food at home so I loved the way they were done with spices that did not take away from the asparagus taste. The mussels were fantastic, full of flavour and in a bowl of tomato sauce which was delicious, but did not overpower the mussels in any way. Most restaurants avoid mussels and many serve them without flavour. That was a good beginning. My wife had the ling which she said was very good and I tried some, but not enough to really taste it properly. Before eating I ordered the Italian beer which was a wheat beer and very flavoursome. I used to brew my own so I know the taste and liked it very much. I had never had Italian beer before. Next course was gnocci which I had only ever had once before and I cannot remember the sauce, but it was not the hot, spicy one and I loved it. Good texture, flavour and complimentary sauce. I came away thinking that the chef knows what he is doing and produced food equal to a restaurant that would charge double or triple. It is hard to describe the little things, but you also know when you have had an ordinary meal and this was far from ordinary for me.

Honestly one of my favourite meals I have ever had. Came here with my girlfriend, the service was perfect, waiter was very knowledgeable, attentive, helpful and kind. I had the trevally (which was one of the specials), and it was perfection. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience, at a very reasonable price!

We wandered in by serendipity the first time, only a few days after opening, drawn by the quiet, welcoming ambience and a pleasant chat with Bronwyn. The menu is not overwhelming, but contains all the Italian favourites you could wish for, supplemented by extremely tempting specials to take advantage of seasonal produce. My first meal was the house made gnocchi with burnt butter sage and I think it's the reason we have been back 4 times since. We're now on a mission to sample the entire menu, but it's difficult when the specials are so tempting. Last Friday I walked in determined to finally sample the lasagne, but there was an osso buco special that could not be refused and I'm very glad I didn't. The meat fell off the bone and the tangy tomato sauce contrasted perfectly with the creamy mash. The servers are all delightful, friendly and attentive, and the kitchen staff clearly care a great deal about the food they are preparing. Excellent traditional Italian food. I will be back for that lasagne soon... unless there's something else irresistible on the specials board.

I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately the setting wasn't matched by the food. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana from the special menu thinking it would be "special", however what we recieved was watery and tasteless. Very little sign of parmesan which makes the dish. My rocket and gorgonzola salad which had walnuts in it didnt come with walnuts, when questioned by the chef...who had to clear our entree setting as the service was so poor, I asked where were the walnuts? His reply...didnt have any..though you'll get double next time!! Wow what a chef! Onto mains and my gnocchi which was billed as homemade, was and it was tasty, however the pancetta was fatty with a lot of chunks of uncooked fat left.on the plate. The fennel and italian sausage with rigatoni was flavourless except for the chilli which made the overall dish unpleasant. A disappointment as it really shouldn't of been a hard dish to make. The menu is hardly extensive and badly done, nothing authentic about it. The ingredients were all shop bought and nothing you couldnt cook at home. The service was haphazard to say the least with as I mentioned the chef having to come out to clear plates. It wasn't a busy night either. The older waitress set me a knife and fork for my gnocchi, served the bottle of prosecco in a ice bucket and set it on the table next to us..for us to serve ourselves. The table next to us had byo..but this wasnt advertised..interesting. For the price it wasnt worth it. I wouldnt bother...go for the pizza place down the road serves some unpretentious pasta and pizza for less with more flavour.

Authentic and beautiful flavours. Had the Rigatoni with Pork & Fennel Sausage and Mushrooms. The sausage was moist and delicious with a beautiful red sauce. My partner had the Gnocchi Amatriciana which was also delicious. Tiramisu was very traditional and could have had more marscapone but overall quite good. Would definitely be back
