Sunshine Cafe

If you are traveling through Richmond Indiana, Do not stop at Sunshine Cafe. The woman Jody (who I am not sure if shes the cook or manager) is a B*tch. After sitting for 45 min waiting for sandwiches,fries,cottage cheese and mac n cheese.Jody made the excuse some food takes longer to make which I agree but not when your making a club sandwich. Plus their fries were undercooked and the mac n cheese was cold and hard.They were out of onion rings, fruit and baked potatoes. This was only at 430pm. Jody was extremely rude telling other customers why she was having a bad day while pointing to us and we didnt say nothing but the truth. With all the negatives maybe the BBB should get involved. Plus the health needs to come in. The waitress didnt wash her hands and Jody's backside was showing to the customers. We didnt come to see a crack show. Our food came out not done and the waitress after placing our order was gone. She took off out the side door. The staff was looking for our waitress. She never came to the table to ask us if everything was okay do we need refills or can I get you anything. She didnt come back. I started reading the negative reviews and wow yeah the other customers are right. Bad service bad manors bad management. I am a chef I know the protocols with the food industry and what their doing is not correct. It's a nasty restaurant with health codes not followed. Trashy floors tables not cleared and cleaned in a timely manner. Not worth it.

We ordered and waited and waited. Another party of 3 came in approximately 15-20 minutes after we ordered and was seated. Approximately 30 minutes later they were served their food. That was all I needed to prompt me to leave. I advised our server we were leaving and would pay for the coffee and orange juice. So we paid $7.80 for an Orange juice and 1 coffee. The waitress never made any attempt to let us know when we could expect our food until we told her we were leaving. Very poor customer service!

Sunshine Cafe is under new management. I believe his name is Kenny. My family and I just picked up a to go order and the experience and service we just had had was incredible. ( I really wish all restaurants were like this) the food was amazing and I definitely feel like I got way more than I paid for. The prices seem to be much lower than the previous management. If you're not trying Sunshine Cafe these days I promise you are missing out.

This was my first visit to this restaurant to eat with my boyfriend. Food came out quickly and it was very hot. It tasted very good, however, this review is more about the atmosphere. The booths are very hard to sit up straight in, so we were both very uncomfortable the entire time. Floors were dirty and whilst our waitress was friendly, others in the restaurant were not as so. There was just a weird vibe to the place, along with a smell.

The staff was rude and unprofessional towards us customers. It's a wonder how they stay open. The food is tasteless and undercooked. The service is slow and now uplifting. The cook yelled at the table in back of me just because their fries were undercooked. This isnt the happening place anymore. Plus the wait alone is something else. Yep not worth it

Waited 45 min for food. We both got steaks. My husband's was a ribeye and he could barely cut it ate 3 bites. I ordered t-bone, the color didn't even look like me, grayish hue, and overcooked. Most of the time those little restaurants have excellent food. This one did not! Wish we would of saved our 40 n went down the road to Texas Roadhouse.

A solid four star review is exactly what this place is. The food is good enough but not stellar, the service is good enough but not stellar. I did get the steak and eggs and as you can see in the pics my steak was easily two temps over medium. The hash browns had some type of funky tartar to them, I can’t put my finger on it but maybe they were using the same flat grill they grilled some other nasty s**t on. The staff was nice older ladies but it did take a while to get our food. The biscuits were on point though! I would def give this place another try and see how it goes from there. Price is very affordable here.
