The Crab Lady

My wife and her friends love going here so one bad experience isn’t going to taint the overall experience and since she loves the place I’ll put up with occasional shenanigans from here but... I drove all the way from Virginia Beach to get crabs from them a few weeks ago and they put me on hold and I’m on hold for 15 minutes even though I called before the 5:00-5:30 closing time and the call somehow gets disconnected on their side. I was very disappointed in the customer service I received on that day but other days have been better!

Had a desire to get some blue crabs since we hadn't had them in a while. Oddly enough the desire kicked in while in Richmond and not back home where crabs are everywhere. Found that this place was listed and gave it a shot. It's definitely got the crab shack vibe going and clearly it gets a ton of business. We ended up getting the crab kickers and seasoned steamed shrimp. Both items were delicious and we ate them onsite. Kickers are crabs already broken in half with butter and spices. Most people get food to take home and it was about 100 degrees during our visit so not many people wanted to hang out. Staff was super helpful even tho they were busy. We also ended up getting some of their fired Whiting which had a great breading on it making it crunchy with each bite. I think it's cash only but they do have a ATM inside. If I'm ever back in Richmond looking for blue crab I'll go back.

First time there & now I am hooked! The lady who worked the front counter was absolutely amazing helped me figure out what I wanted for the best price! I appreciate the time she took and she even showed me what my order would look like. The shrimp & kickers is what we ordered and I can't wait to get back to order more. Delicious! Thanks again to the lady that was at the front counter!
