Lakeside Barbeque

Depending on your personal preference of BBQ styles, this could easily be a 5 star. I’m used to minced pork, I got shredded. May edit this if I find I missed that menu option. Service was fast and readily answered questions. Old school diner feel, a little sparse. Smelled amazing in there tho! EDIT: Well, I posted my review and got a reply within 30 mins! I’ll be getting minced on my next visit. Thank you for the reply and for the information Lakeside Barbeque!

Oh my god come here. I'm still here and writing a review because it's probably the best place in Virginia I've been to. Probably one of the top BBQ places I've ever been to. All three meats on the Novice BBQ platter are outstanding. Nothing's drenched in sauce, though they have some on the side available but I haven't tried, it's all more than flavorful enough on its own. Sides, red potato salad and baked beans, are also fabulous. And for the price? Incredible value. I tend to be very honest (harsh) in my reviews. I don't give good ones without very good reason. They've just given me five. My only complaint? This night owl wishes for longer hours.

Omg this was terrific. There are so many BBQ choices in the country and this is a highlight for sure! The original Virginia style and the NC style were excellent. The collards, southern slaw and Mac were great. Now the Nana pudding? C'mon y'all? No way your momma taught you to make Nana pudding that way, did they? It was tasty with a banana vanilla flavor but let's be clear, there were no bananas or Nilla wafers. Just simple pudding. Is that a deal breaker? Heck no, because the highlight is the Q.

Delicious BBQ. The brisket here was just as good (if not better) than the top BBQ spots in Austin, TX. The staff was very kind and welcoming. They provided great recommendations and were very personable. The restaurant features a "Wall of Honor" featuring local service members. I will definitely be back!
