Comfort

Excellent fried catfish and veggies—including sweet-sour collards I could not stop eating, which is saying a lot for collards. Our daughter works at a highly rated BBQ restaurant and she liked the pulled pork. The cornbread was not appealing at first but with butter is actually very good and is probably more authentic than the sweet, cake-y stuff we are used to. Velveeta fans will like the mac and cheese but it was not to our taste. We stayed at the Quirk and Comfort is right across the street

Great food! I loved the Mac and cheese and the tofu jambalaya. We went here with a work group and I don’t think anyone was disappointed. My husband loved the collard greens and the catfish. I also usually dislike okra (the texture is not my favorite) but the okra at Comfort was really good and crunchy. A really pleasant surprise. (My only gripe would be that there was no changing table in the bathroom. My 4 month old and I made do with what was there, but it definitely took some finagling. I acknowledge that we’re probably not the target demographic but still it’s good to know if you have a baby with you and are going out in an attempt to feel like an adult person.)

One word, Butter! I could taste it in all the food it was so delicious. Even the broccoli was covered in some butter. The corn bread was to die for. The staff was wonderful the restaurant was cute, I love how they serve their water in Mason jars. The only complaint I have is with any restaurant, I am trying to watch my sugar intake and if the servers wouldn't take it so personally if I only asked for water. I get it you want to make as much money as possible in a restaurant and some customers are cheep, but please don't give anyone an awful look when they ask for water only. You don't know if they trying to watch out for there health.

Basic, down-to-earth comfort food, done incredibly well. We were there longer than anticipated before we ordered, due to some scheduling difficulties, but our waitress was super patient, sweet, and hospitable. They had no trouble accommodating our largish group, and I liked the idea of family-style sides for parties over 6. Best of all, Comfort donates all their net profits to FeedMore, so your delicious meal is helping provide one for someone else.

The food here was great. We had the mixed fry with okra tomatoes etc. And the wings. The dry batter was really light and dipping sauce was nice and tangy. The wing were lightly fried but the Alabama white sauce was the best part. Service was lovely! Corner of the bar was hard to sit at since it didn't go under the counter. They donate all their net profits to a hunger charity so you are doing your part by eating there!
