Lunch Supper

Enjoyed this place! Nice atmosphere, friendly service, and nice outdoor seating as well when the weather is nice. If you’re looking for something earlier and your party is small, next door Brunch Jr. opens each day at 9. At Lunch Supper, I enjoyed the kickback mule cocktail and they have a nice selection of seasonal cocktails. I’m not vegetarian myself, but I appreciate their multiple vegetarian/GF options and tried the RVA Sunrise. I wish the potatoes had some more flavor but I liked the ingredients and overall flavor. The rest of my party seemed to enjoy their food. I’ll have to try their chicken & waffles or shrimp & grits next time!

I picked out several places that I wanted to try while we were recently in Richmond, and this was the only one I was intent on NOT missing. There are thousands of glowing reviews, so it must be good, right? Holy cow, this place did not disappoint. Fortunately, we got here at 9:45 (they opened at 10) and were already in line. By 10 the line was around the corner. We waited just a few minutes for our table, I heard a few people back had to wait 1.5 hours. Get there early for a spot! After much hand-wringing, I ordered the Trainwreck. It was delicious and it was the best thing I ate in RVA. The service was quick, excellent, and friendly. A wonderful experience and a fantastic meal. The reviews were right - HIGHLY recommend!

Today was my first time here. There was about a 1 hr wait to be seated. Thankfully, the weather was nice and there is a small outdoor bar in the waiting area. I ordered the burnt end brisket bowl (w/o eggs). It was ok but didn't have the rich BBQ flavor I was expecting. My friends ordered the braised short ribs w/ mash & green beans and the smashburger. We also ordered the Hot Southern Mess for dessert. Desserts are not listed online. They are written on the chalkboard inside with some other specials. I can remember our server's name but she was great! Overall, we had a good experience and would come here again.

First time visiting, the first thing I noticed was how green and lush the outdoor dining space was, truly an urban oasis in Scott's Addition. Even though it was 97° that afternoon, it felt pretty comfortable sitting outdoors in the shade. Ordered the Ferryman cheesesteak, which looked appetizing but unfortunately tasted bland, and the BYO breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and pepper jack which was yummier and much cheaper. Portions were a normal size, still filling, but that's about it.
