We selected 5 dishes with some help. All really good, plenty for two. Only down point was the glass of coke, but we would definitely recommend and return

We tried out a couple of Malaysian/Singaporean, as well as Japanese dishes at this restaurant. Really loved the food, service and ambiance that we went there twice in our day in Portsmouth. The price vs portion was also good. We really loved the beef rendang, char kueh tiaw and the mee goreng mamak. Also loved the teriyaki and tempura combo set. We also ordered the Singaporean Vermicelli and Nasi Goreng, which were not bad. We were informed by our server Derek that the chicken and beef are halal. Highly recommend the restaurant.

possibly the best asian restuarant this side of the country! has a very comforting atmosphere and the staff are beyond stellar. the food is amazing and the menu has a wide range suiting everyone. would seriously reccomend to anyone who enjoys asian cuisine

Craving for malaysia food. 1st time here. Not disappointed at all. Food tastes good, staff are friendly and love this little cozy restaurant. Me and hubby have a wonderful dinner here.

I am a vegetarian. This was the first time I tried Rakuzen. Although the options were limited, they offered to make other vegetarian dishes by replacing meat with tofu or vegetables. To be safe, I ordered soba noodles with vegetables. It was my first time having authentic soba noodles, and they were delicious. The fried tofu was amazing and my favorite dish out of everything I ordered. I also tried the caterpillar sushi roll, but when I asked if they could make a couple of other dishes vegetarian, I was told that the base sauce contained seafood. I really appreciate it when people are honest about the ingredients in their food. The restaurant has lovely paintings inside, and even though we went during a busy time, they were very accommodating and managed to find us a table. I will definitely go there again.

Visit Portsmouth and looking for halal food. This restaurant was not in the google list if you search for ‘Halal food in Portsmouth’. However, I try to search in facebook and found 1 post regarding this restaurant did served Halal chicken and beef. We asked the owner and he confirmed it. Taste wise it meet our taste bud and taste exactly as the home country food. The turn over for the food also very fast. Totally recommended for those who looking for Halal restaurant in Portsmouth.
