I have had the pleasure of dining at Bistro Etc twice; and i am very pleased to say that both dining experiences were excellent and memorable. From the friendly and extremely competent wait staff; to the fabulous drinks and friendly demeanor of the owner/bartender; to the delicious and sublime execution of the Chef/owner. I encourage anyone who values dining as more than just a meal, to invest an evening of their time to enjoy the experience. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Had the privilege of having dinner here with some fellow Port Washington foodie moms in tow! A husband and wife team owned and operated neighborhood hidden gem, the wife is a classically French technique trained chef and the husband takes care of foh and makes the most incredible selections of well balanced and truly delicious cocktails. The menu is a bit of French, bit of other things and all heart. The chef's passion and love for food really shines in every dish we tried this night. Nothing was under seasoned nor over seasoned nor over cooked nor undercooked. Beautifully plated and well timed so that we never felt rushed from the first course to the last. To begin our evening we began with aromatic empanadas, crunchy yet tender blistered shishito peppers, tender stuffed mushrooms and creamy shrimp & grits. All just masterfully prepared and plated. For our entrees we had the best Moroccan chicken "tangine style" ever, the most unctuous boneless braised short ribs and perfectly grilled New Zealand lamb chops and I needed to try the mushroom risotto as well. We literally had to stop ourselves from licking the plates clean! Of course ordered a trio of desserts and I have to say the apple cake was the star. I love discovering restaurants like these in little towns all over the world. This one is definitely a worthy visit on the LIRR from the city for those who do not drive.

The food here is some of the best on Long Island. Everything on the menu is superb (can change seasonally) and the atmosphere is perfect. Chef Karen is an absolute delight. Inside tip: always have your selected dish prepared "as the chef recommends". She (Chef Karen) won't steer you wrong!

Favorite place up here in Port and I've lived here for about two years. Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere, great service. One of the few places that truly has it all.

We have been twice in two weeks--the pasta was excellent as was the rack of lamb. The beet/walnut salad was delicious with a stunning presentation. The service and ambiance are very professional and pleasant. It is a new favorite !

Had an amazing night last night. Went to Bistro Etcetera in Port Washington. Have to start off by saying wow. the ambience is relaxing and comfortable. Great ligthing. Great place to go for a date or celebrate a birthday or anniversary or just because. The food is extraordinary. Each bite just pops in your mouth and makes your taste buds explode. Im a dessert person so I'm going to start with the warm apple strudel with vanilla ice-cream. OMG it just melted in your mouth with ever bite. We also enjoyed the peach cobbler even with just a taste, it reminded me of grandmas peach cobbler that just makes you feel like there are no worries. We had the empanadas made with roasted duck and with outstanding asian sauce. First time Ive ever had duck empanadas (also good to try something new), the mixtures of the flavors gave you that OH MY GOODNESS FEELING the second you taste it. i commented if the apps taste like this i cant image how dinner will be. We also shared the soup special, it was perfect for a chill night like last. You can taste each ingredient in ever spoonful. For dinner when I saw the plate I wasnt sure if I would be able to finish all this food. We had the Skirt Steak with warm potato salad. when you taste it warm it is such a difference, wow another item that mixing and blends that just gives you I want more feeling. (also a first for us to have warm potato salad). The steak had just the right amount of spicy with the chimichurri. And the crispy chicken was also amazing. Each dish and sides all complimented each other. Oh I so can not for get the drinks. The drinks topped off the night. The drinks completed the night. We can not forget the drinks With the Apple Martini again a first to have an apple slice in my apple martini was not too strong but enough to give me a buzz. Really like the touch of the apple slice in my martini, mu boyfriend had the ET cetera this was a first for him hes never had bourbon before, he was so excited he loved it and when I had a taste it was outstanding. Bistro Etcetera is divine this is my new favorite restaurant. What is nice; coming from the city it is right near the train station just a train ride away from Penn Station
