Had reservations for 6 people with a birthday celebration. Table was set for 8 and hostess didn’t remove the extra settings (lazy) saying “they” would do it—the already busy wait staff. My brother-in-law and I removed the settings and spread out the six settings and removed the chairs. When confirming the reservation on phone, restaurant wanted to know name of celebrant but wait staff knew nothing and didn’t comp at least one of the deserts. Clearly owner wasn’t there as he was last time. Food was great though and waiters brought food out on time and kept water filled.

If you are looking for a real Italian place, that’s it! Food and service, excellent!! Atmosphere, unique!! You feel like visiting your nonna! If you are not of Italian descent, you will finally understand what we always talk about! The owner walks around talking to the customers and if you invite him, he will even come and share a glass of wine with you. (If he is not busy, of course) Weather permitting, sitting outdoors under the vine is also great! An Italian restaurant next to an Irish church, only in Philadelphia! 🤗

The staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive; we also saw the owner wandering the dining rooms. The interior is lovely and interesting. The food is rather good, though the portions are somewhat small, at least in terms of pasta / vegetables. Appetizers were excellent, and the house bread was good. I enjoyed the experience, but I prefer several other Italian restaurants in the city.

Good Italian cooking. Menu offers a decent selection of pastas. We started with the bean soup which was thick and well seasoned. The bruschetta had 5 slices with melted mozzarella cheese and tomatoes. Good for sharing. The Caesar salad was good but a little too creamy. For the entrees, the fusilli Puttanesca had chunks of tomatoes and was not spicy. The spaghetti and meatballs was a hit. The meatballs were soft and tasty. The ziti with asparagus was Al dente with a blush sauce. For dessert, the ricotta cheesecake had a subtle lemon taste with zest of lemon. The meal was exactly what we wanted and it was reasonably priced by city standards. Service was attentive. We were able to have a conversation at the table. As the evening progressed the noise level increased. The owner visited each table and serenaded everyone with his singing and guitar playing. A pleasant evening in Philly.

Really great spot for a delicious meal. In the evening their area next to the bar has a DJ and dancing - it can be quite a fun time. The bartenders are typically the same and very nice.

You have to find parking on the street or parking lot but otherwise the food is numero uno! I had the Flounder, sautéed with spinach, cheese, in a cream sauce. It was great! A side of baked ziti and a garden salad. The menu is extensive, atmosphere is great and the service is just as great! You can't go wrong with dinner at D'Angelo's. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food was amazing. Easy reservation. Great menu. Warm bruschetta. Very different. Only nit would be for Caesar salad, no fresh cracked pepper offered. But anchovies WERE. it was excellent.

I can't believe that I have slept on this Ristorante. Italian is my favorite cuisine and D'Angelo's did not disappoint at all. I was celebrating my birthday, and was sweetly serenaded by a handsome gentleman, in English and Italian. The food, from appetizers to dessert we're delicious. I will definitely return!!
