Haven Lounge

The hotel was very clean with the autum colour floral decor in the centre of the room which was nice, and staff was lovely! We didnt know there was a chocolate theme hightea when we booked so on the day everything had cocolate which was a bit to much desert wise but the savory was DELISH. The only complaint I got is we paid for a high tea experiance but the only high tea thing about it is the 3x layer of food and unlimited tea and coffee. The table setting had nothing special about it, no gold cutler, no nicley placed plates, no flowers to match the theme of it all. it just felt like brunch in a hotel lobby like any other hotel.

Party of 3 attended The Haven Lounge on Saturday for truffle high tea. The menu was exceptional and truffle flavour was subtle and enjoyable. The service from all staff was attentive and friendly, we genuinely felt welcomed and well looked after. Staff member Layla was extremely helpful via email with pregnancy friendly menu options. Surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, clean and comfortable. Thank you for such a lovely morning.

I went with a group of girlfriends this weekend and it was a really weird experience. Firstly, we told them ahead of time that I was pregnant and couldn't eat some items - they assured us they could swap out some items. Got there and nothing was swapped over, and when asked was told nothing could be done, so I could only eat like half of the high tea. Then I asked if I could get a mocktail since I couldn't drink. I was told that they sacked their bartender and so nothing could be made. Weird to tell me about they staffing issue but ok. My girlfriend asked if they could try making a virgin mojito since it was super easy and we got told there was no fresh mint, just bad mint (eh? why do you have bad mint?), but he will go look. After maybe 30 mins, he came back with something and said he tried but he doesn't think it tastes nice so it's on the house. This is nice that he tried but I didn't trust it at this point so just got a tea. When we went to pay we waited for like 20mins to split the bill and they couldn't but rather than tell us, we were kinda just left waiting there? Eventually my girlfriend asked and said we can just put it on one card. All in all, the food was average, the service was weird and the whole experience wasn't 5 star.
