Otake Sushi Bistro

We ordered from here having a bunch of extra UberEats credit as a "new" place to try. Our meal was about $125 in total. The presentation of the meal can be seen in the photos. While it looks reasonable we had a number of issues. The Miso soup was overly salty (not pictured). The rolls had little fish, and the Ikura sushi tasted spoiled. My wife made a comment that she's had better sushi from a grocery store. I'm inclined to agree as everything tasted stale. Won't be eating here again.

Sushi Very dry, tasteless, no texture, and I ordered 3 various rolls, one worst than the other. Veggie spring rolls excellent, veggie rice great but missing the Egg that was mentioned in menu, the soup miso was great, avocado Salad great. But at end we lost our appetite due to sushi which had odd texture and lacks that authentic freshness. Don’t think I will go out of the way, will stick to Sushi in Newtonville which is always fresh.

I received a normal menu that you open to look for food. All the prices were indicated. When I received my check all the prices were raised but a pretty significant amount. I went out with friends that day and everything they got was overpriced by another 15% dollars too. We asked the manager what was going on but she said that we should’ve read the small red text at the front of the menu to open the “online menu”. The manager didn’t let us know beforehand to do so. The manager didn’t reimburse any of the costs and left a bad impression on the restaurant as a whole.

All my friends food was mediocre and some of it was even bad. The tuna tataki was overpowered by the seasonings which made the flavors unpleasant. Nonetheless this doesn’t make the review a one star. Afterwards I got my check but the soup was overpriced. I went out with friends that day and everything they got was overpriced by another 2-4 dollars too.
