Melanie's Restaurant

Stopped in here after spending some time looking at the blooming cherry trees in Branch Brook park. Realized it was more of a diner than a restaurant when walking in the front door. Only option for seating was stools and booths. Place was clean enough so that was fine. We had cubanos, a side salad and some fried plantains which were all tasty, but not special. Really inexpensive though. Lots of food for 2 and only $21. Enjoy!

Food not the greatest. Nothing to write home about. Now service was poor. Waiter takes order delivers order then comes with check. After eating I like a nice cup of coffee. But no to me it felt like sit eat and get the hell out. Would not recommend to anyone. Before I forget I ordered an meat lovers omelet and it was the driest and hardest omelet I've ever had.

Two sandwiches and one meal were ordered. First ropa vieja with arroz congri ,the rice was wet and dry at the same time. The pan con bistec sandwich had American cheese but the cheap kind. The Cuban sandwich was not that great flavor wise very bland. Not worth the money in my opinion. The service was good, the food not so much.
