Le Grand Comptoir

I know crime is on the rise in NY, but I didn’t expect to be robbed when departing at Le Grand Comptoir. Crisps were tasteless. The burger had certainly been microwaved. Boiling hot to touch, soggy after 2 mins. Waitress was pleasant. No complaints there. I would say walk across to Hudson and get your food there, but $5 for a bottle of water got me remortgaging the house.

the worst restaurant/wine bar I've ever experienced. They handed me some sort of disheveled menu and then warned me that nothing on the menu is available for the most part. The waiter then asked if I would prefer pink white or red wine. All the wines are egregiously overpriced even beyond the normal airport ripoff. But the worst was the New York hamburger. I took one bite of the $20 rubber hockey puck and send it right back. Absolute garbage. Whoever runs this place should be ashamed of themselves.

I'd have given 0 stars if that was an option. Horrible rude service. Had to clean up our table before we sat ourselves because nobody showed up to buss the tables. We finished our food and one meal still didn't arrive. When I asked the server to cancel the meal he got mad and told me I can take it to go. Food was bad, got a $15 microwaved avocado toast with tortilla chips and cold tasteless spinach artichoke dip.

If I could rate this ‘ Wine Bar ‘ zero it would be too good … sat down with family of 4 , waiter initially happy enough , moved two tables together … BUT as soon as we said we only wanted drinks initially he said , No you need to eat . I politely pointed out the sign which said ‘ Wine Bar ‘ and then he became extremely rude and bordering aggressive . He told us we would have to drink up when we got our drinks and pay the check immediately . Our drinks 15 minutes later hadn’t arrived , so I told him politely to forget it , and we went elsewhere . An complete and utter shambles , disgusting and degrading customer service , and quite rightly deserving of it’s awful reviews . If any one in management wants to address this , it was around 1630 on the 5th April . Sadly it seems they couldn’t organise a party in a brewery so I’m not holding out much hope of a response . Visit at your own peril .

Very rude older waited, named Roman or something like that. We have been talking about his behaviour also with other guests. I dont think this person has the mental capacity to be working as waiter/bartender, or in hospitality in general. Bitter attitude, cynical jottings. I dont think this is what people would expect in airport bar. This man should be working elsewhere, he is clearly not enough for this type of job.
