Bad management service !
The manger was a male, very rude due to the fact that he stated he was busy and was not of help to a customer. After watching a good game at Prudential Center, I went to this Joe crab shack here in Newark. The Food was great. I had some questions about the food. I asked a staff member may I speak with the manager. They indeed did a good job assisting me. Unfortunately the Manger came by with a bad attitude. I had questions about the food. He told me he is busy. He told me I don't have to eat here.

I read sooo much negative reviews shocked this place is not bad. Maybe I went at a good time but it Was the Two dollar Twosday special going on and around 5pm. We had a nice Gentlemen named Corey as our waitor. He explain the deals and everything to us if i had a question. The wait time was not long for food at alll and the drinks were good for the two dollar drinks as well( Not the strongest but what expect on a day where it's $2). The food is really Delicious i mean gooood seasons well breading for the fried food. Perfect !Really really good think I'm gonna come back on a Thurs for the Half price Cocktails Deal think thay would b much better.

When we came in there was no hostess present. Then one of the servers told the hostess people are in the front she said I know. Finally someone cleaned off a table and seated us. The bar area was a mess, and it looked like no one had time to clean. There were tons of staff members running around talking to each other. That place should have been spot less. My friend asked for oysters they young lady said that they ran out. So, we got our food in a descent amount of time. We ate, we talked glasses were empty. We searched for our waitress, no where to be found. I had to get up and go find her myself. Finally we ordered more drinks. Half hour passes. Our waitress comes to the table and is like can I get you anything else? I said yes our drinks that has been sitting on the counter. Funny thing was I was being sarcastic. But it really was our drinks sitting there. shaking my head. So we got there around 5,it is not 7 do you know this young lady came and told my friend that they have oysters now.. He said where did you get them from pathmark? I spoke to two assistants and finally the store manager. They all seem to be high drunk or something. Just totally oblivious to how the place looked and the lack of service. Go to route 17/3 I believe it is. DOWN TOWN NEWARK ISNT CLEAN AND HAS NO SERVICE...

Energetic and attentive serving staff. Food was great and so was the service. Keep an eye on the Prudential Center events. My wife and I were there during a NJ Devil's game and the parking was scarce. Enjoy!

Where do I start, first off we have to admit that we waitress was really nice and attentive. Now lets get to it,
The food was horrible!!!!😡
The lobster tail was smothered in pop and very mushy the queen snow crabs were tasteless and the shells were weak which suggest that whoever is purchasing the seafood doesn't care or know what they are doing.
The salmon was slightly tolerable again no flavor I had to begrudgingly use salt a serious no no for me but I really had no choice it was bland and sweet. Yeah I know.
Now lets get to the booth we were sitting in, we sat down and I look to my right and all I saw was old slop on what was supposed to be a stainless steel wall. You could clearly see that the wall hadn't been washed since they opened the place. Really disappointed 👎
We were really looking forward to this experience but unfortunately we will not be coming back to this Joes or any other Joes in the future. 125.00 bucks down the drain.
In conclusion, save yourself the time and money, just being honest

Poor service on 3/8/2016 We sat for a half an hour before someone came to wait on table. Called the supervisor over and he stated 2 seconds he will send someone over but it took 5 minutes. I hope the food is good or will not be coming back to this location.This location need to have a staff meeting and step it up!

I had the unfortunate experience of having lunch here yesterday......let me tell you ill NEVER make that mistake again. I don't know it's because it's located in Newark and perhaps you feel as though the food should be a reflection of the every day folks walking around. But I must say this Joes is a total 180degree to the Joes on route 3. I order the KG or KJ steam pot......pot came out barely had steam....clumps of preserve mince garlic.....no corn nor potatoes that the steam pot was suppose to come with.....I won't even get started on what my other guest at my table had to say. Just a waste of my money and my time. And the waitress annoyed everyone by addressing us as "sweetie" like huh?? Who is her "sweetie"

The service is horrible wish i read the reviews before coming. The place was not packed i got there after 5pm. Got seated 30mins into rhe wait i had to ask another Waiter to find who out who has to serve us terrible and she was not professional. As another review mentioned they were indeed running around like chickens with their heads off and it was not busy
