The Ridge

I had a Major hankering for some smoked chicken wings the other night and everywhere I look wings are sold out left and right, Until I stumble upon this place, The Ridge, and they've got Wings and Smoked Wings. I was skeptical. Having never been to the physical location I had no idea what to expect. My order arrived in a grocery bag, Check 1. Plain white box, Check 2. My receipt stapled to the bag, clearly specifying my request for nothing on my wings as I have a severe Capsaicin intolerance, Check 3. I tried one before rolling them in Cavenders and I had to stop myself from checking the Bones for anything I missed. So so good. Hit the absolute spot and for delivery it got here super quick and still very hot and moist!! Will be ordering again.

I visited after reading about how highly ranked The Ridge is on a few articles. They crushed it. Brisket was the best I have had outside of Texas. There were a few bites where the fat had rendered beautifully to this rich buttery texture, combined with the smoky sweetness of the bark, that I thought I had just taken a bite of a toasted marshmallow fresh off the fire. Pork is excellent- have it with their vinegar mix sauce for a more piedmont NC style pulled pork. This is a new high water mark for Nashville BBQ.

Food ordered: Catfish plate with turnip greens and white beans. The fried catfish was so good and you can tell that it was freshly cooked after you ordered it. I love that the turnip greens have a little spice kick to them, which is different, but it was still good. The hush puppies were very good. Most people don’t know how to cook hush puppies correctly because they’ll be too hard on the inside and outside, but the hush puppies that came with my catfish plate were cooked just right. They also sell their hot sauce by the bottle!

Drove from Norfolk to San Antonio and stopped by here because my son had seen this place on videos and reviews and wanted to try it out. The wall of trophies and ribbons are impressive and made me more curious about how good their bbq brisket is because that is what my son said people recommended getting the most. We split a plate with brisket, sausage, beans, corn and cornbread.... and the flavors were wonderful on all of it!! I live where I believe it's hard to find restaurants with great flavors.. that is not a problem here. The bbq flavors were as good as the wall of trophies demonstrates and if either of us had any complaint at all, the meat was a bit dry... With their reputation I believe it was a fluke and it was only a slight frustration because the flavors were so good. Everyone talks about the banana pudding and you should absolutely get one. I only took one bite of my sons as I was nervous how dairy would affect our 15 hours left on the road. It was amazing and one of the hardest treats to restrain myself from enjoying.... If I'm ever back in Nashville, I will swing by to try the brisket again and to get the pudding....

I loved this place! Was it fancy? Heck no!! But the food was fantastic! The staff/service was phenomenal. Our server, Amy, was great! She went above and beyond making sure we were happy. If you want fast, casual, amazing tasting food, served with extremely friendly staff... this is your place. Our entire group of 6 was very happy we chose The Ridge for lunch.

This place is a hidden gem! Portions are great and price isn't out of line. Had the Pulled pork BBQ nachos and the Fried Catfish sandwich. Both had great flavors. The only thing I would have liked is that they put the nachos under the broiler a bit longer so the cheese would be melted and warm/hot. The reason for the 4 stars.
