Emmy Squared Pizza - The Gulch

To preface this, I’ve never had Detroit style pizza. But I can tell you after eating here that I’ve been missing out. This restaurant provided a laid back and welcoming environment for a quick lunch on a holiday weekend. Service was quick with easy ordering. Some pizza shops do not allow you to do half toppings, but they were able to accommodate my picky self. This was super helpful because my partner and I were able to share the pizza and reduce food waste. The pizza came out fresh and crispy. Hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve eaten.

The deep dish pizza here is outstanding. They have a full bar and some variety to the menu if you’re not feeling pizza. The chicken parm sandwich is a huge and very tasty sandwich probably best eaten with a fork and knife. It is absolutely delicious! Sometimes you can walk in, but we’ve had to wait a few times and it has been worth it.

Pizza was good, deep dish rectangle style with crispy crust and sauce put on top. The food came out pretty quick, but the restaurant was fairly empty. Service was so-so, as our waitress was texting most of the time, but that's what you get at 3pm on a Wednesday. The other oddity was that the water was room temperature, which is something that I have not experienced previously. Overall it met our needs with 2 kids under 10.

Amazing food! We’ve been to Emily in NYC and made reservations from Emmy as soon as we knew we were going to Nashville. Every.Single.Thing we’ve had here is amazing. The Brussels sprouts salad is so delicious, even though it doesn’t necessarily sound good… it’s beyond good! The pesto breadsticks are delicious little pieces of garlicky, cheesy, pesto deliciousness. The Zia fries were everything that we were hoping them to be (we planned our meal before getting there)!! The pizza with burrata… amazing, and just spicy enough. So good! This was plenty of food for four, but I wish we would have had room for the burger! We celebrated our daughter’s 21 on this trip and they were so celebratory at Emmy, thank you!! We will be back, we love this chain so much!!!

Where to start…what to say…I’m honestly almost speechless. I can’t possibly put in to words how good the food is here. It’s absolutely magical, there is so much attention to detail, they care about it all, every unbelievably delicious bite was better than the last and it just makes you want to keep eating. I could barely choose what pizza I wanted to try because all of them sounded so good, but one thing I did know was I HAD to try the award winning burger. It’s been on my list for the longest time and I was finally in the area and it was my time! This is how food should be done. I hope to be able to go back soon. You have to go here. They have rooftop seating too so make sure to ask about that. Just a fantastic little place. Dang!

The food taste was amazing. The pizza was cooked exactly how we asked, the flavors were great and the appetizer of bread sticks were delicious. My only complaint was the service, when we arrived there were 3 tables occupied, and everything else was empty (we ate early). We asked to sit in at a different open table and was rudely told no, it had a reservation. By the time we left, the table wasn't seated, nor were most of the tables. There was no reason for it. Also our waitress and most of the staff (except the manager) just didn't have a great attitude and weren't friendly. So if you can see past some rude service, pizza is great.
