Poutine Centrale

Well, after hearing about it a lot, we finally tested in two flavours and no doubt it awesome in taste and too much in quantity Mainly because of the portion of the french fries.. We tried butter chicken and veg Madeleine. Butter chicken was very close to the authentic taste but it's Madeleine that we linked the most because of the combination of cheese and creamy.. Definitely recommend Poutine Centrale. The staff is really friendly and guide thought all the varieties. Beware of the quantity, light eaters can go for small for two people.

We stopped by after a full day at the insectarium, biodome, planetarium and botanic garden so we were famished. We thought we would each start with the small and then order more after, but the small was more than enough. The portion was very large and also very tasty. We ordered the veg Madeleine poutine, the sloppy joe poutine and the fried pickles. The fried pickles were the exact sourness I like with excellent breading and didn’t feel too heavy, they were perfect! The veggie poutine was our favorite of the two we ordered. The cheese curds were great quality (very squeaky) and the combo of toppings was very well thought out.

I ordered the large Jacqueline poutine. I love the mix of bacon, cheese, shallots and sour cream. It’s a really beautiful marriage between all of that and the crispy fries. My eating partner got Le Cheese Bacon and they said it was delicious and the bread (ciabatta style) really made it stand out. Only downside was that the fries were missing with the burger (i ordered through Skip so i settled that with them). I added a side of fried pickles (delicious) so maybe that overrode the fries? The menu on there is a little confusing. All in all the food was delicious and will order there again but hope they will revise their wording for this menu item on Skip.
