I almost left after trying to order because one of the ladies behind the counter was incredibly rude to me for my non-native Spanish (or just that I existed in her vicinity). The other two ladies were helpful and friendly. The food was SO GOOD, I have to go back and just hope I don’t see that one woman again. I got white rice, black beans, chicken and maduros and it far exceeded my expectations—amazing! 5 stars minus one for that woman, and reading the other comments I see it’s a theme.

Delicious empanadas and arepas (get them first thing in the morning for maximum freshness). Update: I used to recommend the beef empanadas, but due to the pandemic and inflation, the meat variety has been modified and now has an overabundance of potatoes and very little meat, so you may find the chicken empanadas more satisfying. Their cafe con leche is also delicious! Re: the negative reviews on this site regarding staff: the people at this establishment have always treated me very nicely- they are respectful, friendly, and professional.

For years I frequented this place, lived two blocks away. It was always an issue that I didn’t speak Spanish but I didn’t mind until my Spanish speaking husband caught them getting over on me and talking about me. They often messed up my order which I just chalked up to miscommunication, then he confirmed they simply could care less and were just giving me whatever to take my money and get me out. So rude. Customer service is not something they are concerned with. I don’t think everyone needs to speak English but if you are at the register you should. Yes the arroz imperial is fantastic, but I will never give them another dollar. They offer colada at the grocery store a few doors down.

Went there Saturday afternoon 12/12/20 the women behind the counter were very rude. There was a discrepancy on the price of the order I placed. I was told one price over the phone and they were asking for twice as much when I got there. Either way I asked about the difference still willing to pay the price. In the end the ladies were very rude made comments that I don’t listen well, I’m wrong, and can’t hear well. At that point I asked for a refund. I made it clear to them that better customer service and choices of words would have made the sale. I asked to speak with the manger. They said there was no manger. If your thinking about this place I would think twice. Go to another place where they value the customer.
