Just arrived back from an amazing week at your resort. All the staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our 7 night stay we couldn’t ask for more. We took a private transfer (via our TUI booking), which takes around 25 mins and its motorway all the way to the Maspalomas. The resort itself simply amazing! Has 8 pools to choose from, which includes a lazy river (probably takes about 30mins to float around). Good thing about having so many pools some (bigger ones) are allowed balls and lilo’s etc) and some just a chance to relax in a quieter environment. The reception staff were very helpful upon arrival and it was nice to receive a free glass of champagne when we arrived. There are two areas to eat at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Restaurant Baobab (just under reception) has breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meanwhile the Resturant Marula is for breakast and dinner only. Both have plenty of room and so much food to choose from. We had the full-board but if your half-board you can also purchase food at the Pili Pili (next Lazy River) or the Akara (located inside the Richard Burton Bar), however you can purchase your food at any of the restaurants. So many bars inc: Henry Stanley Bar, Dodori Bar (located for all the shows), Mungo Bar (under the water fountain), Samuel Baker (inside/outsde next to reception) and our favourite the Richard Burton Bar, which over –looks one of the pools and two lovely trees, which lights up at night. The Richard Burton bar also has a house live band (The Rafikis), which are excellent. The live shows were great where most were in the Dodori Bar but one was outside at the Plaza Marimba and included: Queen tribute, Lion King live, Circus Etero, Café Del Mar, Turn up Funk and Jersey Boys. The staff were always on hand walking around making sure you didn’t have to wait to order a drink. Our room was a perfect size (3 people) plenty of room and included a walk in shower, aircon and plenty of space for clothes. We had a ground floor room so our outside area was even larger and a 10 second walk to one of the pools. There was a mini-bar, which we didn’t use but it was handy to put a few bottles of still water from the supermarket. There was a TV but no ITV or BBC just Sky News and Bloomberg for the UK. The room was always very clean everyday the housekeeping worked so hard. They would come in twice per day to clean the room. Once in the morning and later in the afternoon to add some lovely Lindt chocolates and ‘Turn-down’ service. Our housekeeping name was: Anny B Urrego and she was amazing! Outside our room (main door) we have four small pools full of fish and lovely Turtles, this was so lovely to see everyday swimming around with the ambient music in the background. The whole hotel is African theme and the décor was fantastic, especially when you walk from the entrance with noises of wild animals and the orange lighting. At night the resort comes to life with so much going on where you can choose to chillout across any of the bars or watch the live shows. During the day the resort is surrounded by some wonderful trees, which include Orange and Mango trees and so many different varieties. There are model animals around the resort including: elephants, giraffes and Zebra’s, which was great for pictures. Regarding the sun-beds we never had any trouble finding one, of course between 8am and 9am it does start to get busy. If you have trouble finding one the staff are on-hand to find a spot for you. If you wanted to move beds later in the day to one of the 8 pools we always found some near the ‘Lazy River’ after 3pm. Outside the hotel your about 5 min walk to the supermarket and adjacent is an indoor shopping centre, which takes you straight to the promenade. This takes about 10 mins from the hotel and includes various trendy shops and cafes/bars, which is nice to walk at any time during the day but great at night to see the sunset and a vibrant atmosphere. The beach is about 15 mins walk just on the left of the El Faro Lighthouse, which has plenty of room and goes for a good few miles, In fact I think it goes all the way to Playa Del Ingles? Also along from the beach is the famous Maspalomas Dunes, which is a site to see. I would defiantly recommend a stay here all staff everywhere you go were amazing !
