I have just been here tonight with some friends to watch the football and with us all being from liverpool we wasnt sure what to expect, we asked if they would be showing the liverpool match which was slim chance as the manchester united match was also playing too at more or less the same time, but the pretty irish girl on the bar was very lovely and helpful and asked the manager if it was possible to put the liverpool game on for us which the lovely manager put the game on for us in the backroom, the manager and staff was all so welcoming and great to talk with, we think this will now be our go to manchester pub whenever we are up in the area

As an American I had my first ever English pub football watching experience here. I also had my first meat pie. The gravy was delicious and it was a good time.

The service was second to none. It was a bit quiet when we went but we got table service for drinks and the staff were super friendly and a good laugh. We spent a few hours here on a Saturday lunch day drinking session and we'll come again.

Excellent proper pub amongst trendy expensive bars.
The landlady was great company and friendly to everyone who came in, superb choice of beers/food at a very competitive price.
Looking forward to returning.

Honestly, words can't really describe my encounter with the city road inn. Came up from London and just fancied a lovely pint in a normal pub with good people and good atmosphere. I got that in abundance but the best part of it was my pie and mash. To die for! The mothership was unbelievable! Pie, mash, minted mushy peas, gravy, crispy shallots and cheddar... made my whole night was unbelievable. Definitely go to this boozer if you're in the town. Lovely lovely lovely!
