Doesn't look like much from the front but get yourself down those stairs for a nice warm welcome and, value for money, Chinese food. Service was quick and the food......... well next time I'm back in Manchester I'll be having at least one evening meal here.

Whilst visiting Manchester we decided to go for a Chinese meal in China Town on a Thursday night.
We weren't really sure of what to expect, just walking past many places I saw the menu and it had a good selection of vegan options so decided to take the plunge and popped in.
The lady serving us was very friendly and opted for the chilli tofu with plain rice and my wife went for crispy aubergine.
The kids ordered chicken chow mein (standard).
It didn't take too long and became the highlight of my Manchester visit. Both the vegan dishes were sooo delicious I couldn't stop thinking about it days after ha.

Last minute dash in after street food was closed. Tbh wasn't sure what to expect as v mixed reviews over the past few years but much better this year.
Happy with customer service, delicious taste ample portions and very affordable price. Thank you China City we will be back😊

Great place to eat in the center of manchester. .still opened after 10pm!! 😉

Underground restaurant in China town, staff was funny and extremely nice. Food came quickly, we ordered to share between everyone. The roasted duck off the bone was nice, mapo tofu was nice as well. Fried rice was nice and dry and not oily, good fish in soy sauce.
Enjoyed the food and it wasn't too packed.

If you love Chinese then this is definitely worth a visit if in Manchester!
There's so many places to choose from, and also has Japanese and Thai restaurants too.
The one thing I was a little surprised at is how early they close on a Saturday evening.
One place turned us away at 9:30pm. Others closed between 10 and 10:30 (whereas others stay open until 1am!).
Great quality produce too (from my experience anyway).

Love the food. The staff are fantastic and helpful. I work in China town and would recommend China City to anyone.
Thank you for a fantastic meal. My husband more than enjoyed it and he can be fussy.
I ordered a take away and it was still hot when I got home nearly a hour later. Thank you to all the staff
