This was a serindipotous find for us after walking out of a restaurant up the street where the staff was rude. It was a lucky happenstance as this establishment, which appears for the most part to be a cheese and charcuterie shop, is also a tapas bar.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Above all the food was delicious and offered many selections above and beyond the repetitive tapas fare of the majority of the establishments to be found on Madrid's streets.
I had the cod stuffed red pimenton with bechemel sauce and it was fabulous.
An added bonus was we went to the cheese counter and bought two kilos of cheese. One was less than half the price we would have paid in the US, the other we purchased after tasting is one we've never seen in the US.
Note: you can bring most cheeses into the US but you may or may not run into problems with soft, unripened cheeses. Buyer beware.
Best staff, service and Spanish products. Thanks Amin for your amazing kindness! Highly recommend!
De los mejores sitios para desayunar (excelentes sus molletes con queso), para tomar un vino o para comprar fiambre. Si encima están los chicos de Varietés, muero de amor.
No sé lo pierdan; llevo casi 20 años yendo y no me canso.
