(chicken/turkey) Sandwiches are okayish (6/10), fries felt really weird and too crisp (double fried i guess) maybe I am not used to it but the fries shouldn't be like that. The ambience and the vibe is really good and the location is right behind the Capitol. Prices are justified for the location and vibe food should be the least priority while coming here. Even the coffee was bad. Never coming back!

I was surprised how good the food was, especially for the price. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito and my boyfriend ordered the Mac. Both were very good. The burrito smelled really good when i cut into it.
The only thing that was weird is that it didn't say it came with a side and they gave me a sausage, with a veggie burrito.... lol so i gave it to my boyfriend but apparently that was very good as well.

Great breakfast cafe and sandwich shop! Generous portions of delicious hot and fresh food, freindly service. Basic but good coffee selection…come for the food, not the coffee. Lunch was equal to the task. A somewhat limited but diverse menu, still should be something for just about everyone. I came once, and returned twice on a 4 day visit to downtown Madison!

I ordered a roast beef sandwich and a fried eggplant sandwich, both with fries, to go. The counter staff was friendly and the cook was fast and efficient. The food was delicious. The pickled onions on the eggplant were a welcome addition. The fries were a highlight, crisp and well seasoned.

The food was meh.. not much flavor. We had Turkey Club with hashbrowns, and breakfast burrito with breakfast potatoes. I feel like for the price it was not worth it. Nice and clean, the salad bar looked good as well. It was super quiet no music playing.

The staff is amazing. Very kind and friendly and always looking to make sure you have a good experience.
The food is OK. If you're looking for a salad bar, this is the place to go - they have everything your typical salad bar will have (varieties of lettuce, veggies, and meats - a few vegan/vegetarian protein options: eggs, edamame, and chickpeas). However, if you want a huge salad, it could get a bit pricey.
They also have a variety of items for breakfast and lunch, like briskets and pasta. For being a cafe inside the US Bank building, the options are great!

Always clean. Always hot and fresh. A decent variety on the menu and a fresh salad bar that's fantastic. I especially love their pork belly Mac and cheese. My out of town visitor demanded we go there because they loved that Mac and cheese so much the last time he was in town. He said he thought about it several times on his drive up. It's THAT good, folks.

Gooseberry's breakfast food is great--I recommend the skillet, if you're looking for something to try. The staff has always been friendly and I appreciate the ability of being able to call in an order ahead of time so it's ready to pick up when I'm running short on time. It's a little more expensive than some places, but the quality of the food and the convenience of it being located on the square makes it worth it in my opinion. I'll definitely be going back.
