Average Mexican food at best. Seriously lacking some flavor. Both the meat in the enchilada and taco were incredibly dry. Refried beans were hard. Salsa was decent

This Mexican food location is on “ Another Level.” Game changer. Words can’t explain. It’s an experience.

Really liked the food here, on par with the other couple really good Mexican restaurants in Long beach. They have daily specials which are very fairly priced. Really enjoyed the torta which was big enough to make two meals out of. Nice neighborhood vibe as well. Will definitely be going back to Great Mex. Oh let me not forget the customer service was great.

Terrible service on 12/24/21. Arrived at 5:05-5:10 PM well within the POSTED closing time of 6:00 PM and were refused service. Employee stated that 'No, we always close at 5:00' despite what the sign in the window states. After 10 plus years patronage this is how we were treated.
Wish there was a zero rating for this type of disservice.

Charging $3.75 for 15 cinnamon chips is a rip off. They used to have a perfect portion to price ratio. Now they give you an 8th of the bag filled for that price. It was so little that I had to count. 15 chips. 15! Come on… These were my favorite; however, now I feel ripped off buying these. If it wasn’t for Covid I would have asked to return it and get my money back. If I would have seen the quantity inside I wouldn’t even had bothered buying it. Disappointed since these are my cheat meal for the week. Smh

Consistent Great Mexican. You can always count on Great Mex for a quick bite. Their fish tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had, and their taco salad is delicious.

I had forgotten how great my burritos were the last time I was there, a few years ago. I ordered a mushroom, onion and shrimp quesadilla. Tasted like something you would make a home. A bit of a surprise. Also a small carnitas tostada. It was just carnitas, shredded lettuce and cheese. The meat was seasoned well.
I will be back soon to taste enchiladas, tacos and other items.
The young guys at the counter were friendly and helpful. That makes all the difference.

Lost something.... had not been back in a year. Food tastes so different. Used to be a little more authentic. But I guess still "Mexican food" for the locals
