Subway

This use to be the cleanest subway in town. They always had the freshest bread! Not anymore. We’ve eaten there two times in the last month ( March). It’s was not good. Bathrooms were dirty. It was yesterdays bread. Hard tough and very crunchy. Not soft and pliability that fresh bread has. What has happened for this subway to go down hill so fast? We have eaten at this restaurant at least once a week for two years. New manager or new ownership? Something has definitely changed for the worse. Two strikes and your out of our fast food loop.

Their sandwich artists do exactly what you want, and ingredients are fresh, so if your sandwich is sub-par it's your fault. They've moved away from point-and-order somewhat, which makes things easier on the production line. Still #1 if you have quirky sandwich preferences you want fulfilled to the letter.

Lexington's Subways are all pretty good, but this one stands above the rest. They're quick and friendly, they keep the place clean, and there's plenty of space if you want to sit down and eat. I have but two complaints: 1) they don't have swiss cheese. Provolone is fine, but it's an imperfect replacement 2) the place was a bit hard to find the last time I went. The sign wasn't lit up. Not a problem during the day, but a slight annoyance in the dark
