Mad Scoops Custom Ice Cream

The sign says it opens at 3pm. My son and I waited for a bit, watched the person who works there pull in a few minutes after 3, go straight inside, locking the door behind her. So we sat for a little while longer, waiting for the store to open, my 4 year old growing more impatient with every passing second... 3:15 rolls around, and the store still isn't open. I continue to watch the person inside clean stuff and do, what I assume are, chores that she needed to do before opening (but who knows). I finally decided to just leave, it didn't look like she was going to open anytime soon and my child was screaming for some ice cream by this point, so we left and went to the Nestlé toll house/ red berry place down the road. It was great! Great food, great service and their business hours are more than just a suggestion! While I understand there's probably a lot that has to be done before opening an ice cream shop for the day, it seems that the person who does these chores, on a regular basis, would know this and, perhaps, show up a few minutes before it is scheduled to open, as opposed to showing up after the scheduled opening time. I've heard this place has great ice cream, but this whole experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth and I probably won't attempt to go here again...especially since the posted hours of operation seem to not be very reliable. In my opinion, skip this place and go to the Nestlé place, it's not even a mile down Harrodsburg rd, and they are a sure thing!
