Nicaragua Restaurant

Of all the great Mexican restaurants in Houston, this La Tapatia on S. Gessner is my favorite. The food is always very fresh, prepared well, and presented nicely from the appetizers to the sizzling fajitas and everything in between. The atmosphere is very warm, comfortable, and accommodating, whether singing Happy Birthday to a customer you never met or watching your favorite sports on the many TV's and cheering with a fellow fan at the bar. But what really keeps me coming back besides the food and margaritas is the service. All of the wait staff is so friendly and attentive, whether dining at a table or booth or being wonderfully taken care of by Adry when sitting at the bar. But what really shines and stands out is the manager, Ponce. He is so attentive, friendly and makes sure all of you and your guests' needs are met and with a smile. He introduces himself, checks on you and your party, makes sure you are being taken care of by the staff, and checks on the kitchen. He is the glue that holds it all together. He also jumps in and will wait on tables or bar customers when the place gets really busy, which is rare these days, even in 5-star establishments. He is always so nice and friendly and will make sure you have an enjoyable experience. Besides everything else, Ponce keeps me coming back!!!

Decided to come for lunch and ordered a special listed at for $12.99. It was good and the service was great served with a smile. The establishment was clean and cool during the hot summer heat. The aqua Fresca’s was really good for $5 large and not too sweet. I would come here again for a quick bite and try another dish. I would rate the free chips and salsa 7.5 out of 10.

The service here was excellent. Everybody was very friendly. Jesus is the owner and he's a very kind person. There was a gentleman working on a ladder. He was so very respectful. He greeted me and exchanged pleasantries in a very kind and polite way. That was very welcomed. The kind lady who saw me to my table and provided me table service did so in a very kind and respectful way. She was very sweet. The food was really good. I got the street tacos. They were very tasty. All my needs were met here.

This RESTAURANT IS AMAZING I LOVE IT! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Everyday they have a special, they have happy hour mon-fri or during an Astros game! The food IS DELIOUSO AKA DELIOUS! This food is so good I turn around to see if they had an ATM TO TIP THE COOK! ITS SO GOOD! I come EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!! THERE NOT TO EXPENSIVE BUT ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! ITS SO GOOD ON MY MAMA ITS SO GOOD!!!
