This is a cult favorite. Been coming here since 1960. The best char broiled Bbq burgers, w Green River soda, Mac salad. Same menu.

Tourist Review: this spot definitely did not disappoint! The HAL Special was delicious with its BBQ steak. The buns have a slight sweat taste to eat (almost like Hawaii buns). The Green River drink is refreshing but a little too artificial tasting to me. Parking is very limited and waves of people come in sometimes so you might not have a spot to park. There are very limited areas to eat there but there are no seats. You have to eat standing. Highly recommend eating here if you are craving a burger.

Nestled between City Mill & Chaminade U, my lady friend said I'd like them. I got a Royal burger, she had a Cheeseburger with fries & we split a large Green River. Service was fast & friendly, yet nowhere nearby to sit. We'll be back soon!

Been going here since I was a kid. I always love there Royal Cheese Burger with a Raspberry Ice Tea & Fries. There desserts and Mac salad are also good. Something about there burger & sauce just never fails to excite me & make my tummy full.

Amazing burger! HAL burger is an absolute must get. Really loved the combo of the ground beef with the steak strips on it. Light teriyaki flavor and every bite had a little bit of every flavor.
They’re Mac salad was not my personal cup of tea, the choice of adding green peas to a crab Mac salad is not something I would do. But I can’t knock a star off for just one item that I personally didn’t care for.
Try it yourself, but definitely get a nice juicy burger. You won’t be disappointed.

My first time trying this place after years of going St. LOUIS drive in across the street. I must say they have straight up a great size burger patty that has enormous flavor and some great combos from double burgers to a Teri meat Burger that was my favorite. This is must try while in hawaii.

Pretty good burger, got the Hal Special with the sliced steak on the burger with only mayo. It wasn’t the juiciest burger I’ve ever had but it also was by no means dry. Could be better, maybe it’s bc I didn’t get all the ketchup and mustard and relish on it. It was good, very limited parking here, longish wait for food if you don’t call ahead, but very good overall value for a burger and definitely a fun vibe. 4/5

One of those "must get" burgers on Oahu. Lots of memories coming to this Waialae/Kaimuki staple. Pro tip: order ahead over the phone as there is usually a line and a wait when you get there. Also, parking is at a premium so unless you get super lucky, expect to drop somebody off to get your order and come back to pick them up.
