Had a large TanTan Udon and a tempura shrimp. The taste was authentic and portions are generous - a medium will be enough next time. This location is good if you want to avoid lines.

Really good and fun Japanese restaurant! Conveniently located in the Fort Street mall, it's the freshest homemade udon and broth we've found. The tempura selection is really good also, and it's nice that everything is out for self-serving, so you can pick the tempura types you want instead of a set menu. The chicken katsu is also excellent.

Delicious and no line for dinner at 6pm compared to the Waikiki branch which is usually a 1 hour wait! The restaurant was so empty when we came. Food was delicious and great value. Marugame is consistently delicious 👌

This was one of the best meals I've had on Oahu, if not the best.
There were no lines at this location in downtown Honolulu. Come hungry, as the portions are more than generous. Go for the Curry Nikutama, and also get the chicken tempura. You might not be able to move for a couple of hours after having this, but you'll be perfectly happy knowing that you've just had some of the best food you can get on Oahu.
10/10. Would live in the restaurant if they'd let me.

Very helpful and smiley staff. We didn’t know what to choose and they explained everything. The portions are huge, one udon L is enough for two personas. Very tasty and good for the price.

I absolutely love this place and can't wait to take my partner when he gets to the island. I think it's so cool that you get to watch the noodles being made fresh in front of you. They have so many different choices to choose from. I got the curry. Don't forget to ask for a fireball to add in to make it spicy. I love that you can just grab everything as you go to add on. They have everything from fried crab to fried zucchini. I got the small and for me it was a pretty big portion

The lines for this place are usually ridiculously long, which is why we came during an off hour (around 3:30-4pm). Good value and delicious food! Got the nikutama udon, mushrooms, rolled egg, and the calamansi-ade. First time trying calamansi and I quite enjoyed the citrus taste, and of course the sweet beef in the udon was so tasty. Would recommend, but expect a wait.

The line can get pretty long (up to 45 mins) but the noodles and tempura are worth the wait!! The noodles themselves are very cheap but the tempura can add up if you get multiple. I had the Kitsune and the Beef udon and I really loved the beef one! The matcha here was also very good and my favorite tempura was the crab!! Be sure to download their app for $5 off your first order :)

Heard great things about this udon shop and finally got a chance to try it! Happy to say that it did not disappoint! My daughter and I tried the popular Niku Tama udon (cold, but can be ordered hot), while my son and hubby tried the Curry Udon. There's a bunch of tempura add-ons too, if you want a little extra. We all loved it! Staff was friendly and helpful as well. My son says he wants to come back again, so that's a good sign!
