The Nook Cafe

Such a lovely find! Small but cozy--love the relaxing decor! Excellent service. Clean, has wifi, a washroom, delicious drinks (try the cinnamon plum tea!), baked goods, newspapers and loyalty cards. No stairs to worry about. NOTE: The only drawback is minimum parking (three spots in the front); there's always street parking I suppose. Didn't affect me because I took the bus.

The Nook is a very nice little coffee shop around the corner from the hamilton GO station. The first thing you will notice is the very small space this shop operates in. But don't worry you will not feel claustrophobic. The woman working behind the counter is very friendly and the atmosphere is very inviting! The menu is very simple to understand with prices that are in line with most shops. The reason I came here was for none other than the Turkish coffee. This is one of the few(if not the only!) shops in Hamilton who offer Turkish coffee on their menu, so definitely something to check out. The coffee was very pleasant to drink and had a prominent cardamom spice flavour that is not overpowering. I also had a vegan chocolate chunk Blondie which was very moist and delicious. This cafe is "zero waste", so everything they serve your to-go food and drinks in are either recyclable or compostable. Even the "plastic" cold beverage containers are compostable. The Nook is a coffee shop that you will not want to come back on occasion, but as a regular. Great hospitality goes a long way! Addition 2 weeks later: the menu keeps me happy, the hospitality keeps me coming back. Love it!

Always a friendly stay here at The Nook. Staff are genuinely lovely people and if you can snag a seat it's a cozy spot to do some work (WiFi available). Can't forget to mention that their entire store is 100% zero waste! Highly recommend their Turkish coffee as it's one of only a few spots in town that make it. Due to limited seating I would not suggest large groups if you'd like to stay and sit a while.
