The Augusta House

Great pub with a very interesting menu, which is new by the way. Very cosy with lots of seating including snugs. Specials every night, Wednesdays is all you can eat wings for 20. Nice homemade deserts, priced a bit high but well worth it. Big screen tv's and special entertainment nights. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. I will certainly recommend this place to friends. Located on Augusta street just off James st. South.

Had dinner there tonight, 1st time in this pub and thought it was tremendous. From the charming ladies who served us, to the delicious food, to that great ambience. We had the $6. mussels as an appetizer and were blown away by the portion size and flavour. Immediately ordered a plate to take home with us when we left. The main courses were just as tasty. Well done by everyone involved. I can not say enough about the place and especially waitresses. Definitely will be returning !

I was flabbergasted by the timely service. Even though the restaurant was busy, my server managed to work great under pressure. The beer and cheddar pretzels were extremely scrumptious. I’m looking forward to the next time I can unwind here after a long day of work. Have fun in Sweden Karl, you’ll be greatly missed Cheers!

Unsure how to properly evaluate this place. I've been a couple times now, and the food has always been great (a little higher priced than some other pubs, but still worth the cost). The environment ranges from busy and loud with large parties, to completely dead on unexpected nights. The service is where the bar is hardest to judge. There are some servers who seem like they hate being there. One who is lovely but a little weird, and one that comes across as *too* prepared (flirts with all the guys, makes jokes with all the girls) and in the end makes you feel a little dirty leaving the tip that her training or online articles suggested she deserves. I don't mean to pile on the one girl, everyone has their own opinion, this was just what we discussed from our most recent experience. At the end of the day, she is one of the servers that makes you feel welcome. As I have already mentioned, I am a returning customer, and I intend to go back. I would recommend this bar to anyone new to the area, but you may have to go a few times to experience the different atmospheres offered.

We visited on a warm and sunny afternoon with expectation to enjoy a drink and sandwich on the patio in front. Upon being seated we were told they were sold out of burgers (at 2:00). They had a relatively narrow menu so I opted for the pulled pork sandwich as an alternative. Unfortunately, they then told us they had sold out of that as well. The explanation was that they had a busy night on Saturday so there wasn't much food left in the kitchen. We gave up on the food, finished a drink and moved on to another restaurant nearby. Not a good experience for us that day.
