This place rocks!! My go-to for excellent food, the friendliest service and creative drinks. The decor is vintage and fabulous and they have a whole wall of unique spirits to choose from. Check their site or Instagram for musicians and artists coming to play till late. Great place to bring local friends and ones from out of town. Hint: always order the special, they’re so amazing, especially their shrimp po boys. Don’t believe the fake 1 star reviews, I’d recommend this place to anyone 300%. We’re lucky to have them in the neighbourhood. One of Hamilton’s best for sure. Seriously, stop reading and just go!

Such a cute little cozy bar! Love the paintings inside of the place and the lit up candles on the table. I’ve only been here a few times since moving downtown and really like it.. no complaints!

Good experience with very nice bartender named Suzanne or Susan(my bad). She made perfect drinks I wanted. Would Definitely go back.

Quaint and cozy little bar - a bit of a diamond in the rough on King East. The drinks are fantastic and the service is friendly. A great place to just sit at the bar. The veggie burger was one of the better options in the city and their house pickled things are worth trying.

Very cool place in the middle of Ham. Nothing much else around but 6 min walk to the main Tim’d stadium, and that makes it so much better. Very Toronto urban downtown feel to the bar. Social underground.

Absolutely cannot say enough good things about The Capitol. Truly a hidden gem. Great food, great drinks, and an owner and staff that really care about their customers and community. Thank you for choosing to keep us all safe in these trying times. We love and appreciate your bravery to “stick to your guns” on this.

Amazing food and drinks. The house-made pickle assortment is SO good. Staff are friendly and welcoming. All the negative reviews are from people who can’t handle the “freedom of choice” to keep your staff and customers safe. The medical science community of Hamilton sees you. We LOVE The Capitol. Will be spreading the word.
