Pete And Kay Diner

We had a special of strip loin and lobster which is not on the menu and it was tasty! I went for whatever meal had vegetables with it. The atmosphere is cozy and great music, server was super friendly. Only reason I put 4/5 is due to the limited menu options. Pure burgers and sandwiches and no healthy options. I wish they could add even a few healthier options. Healthy eating is a focus on many people's minds including my own. Edit- tried the big breakfast. Potatos have turmeric on them and have a strong flavour which may not be for everyone. Coffee is good.

Grabbed a bite at Pete & Kay's in Westdale: they serve supper now. What a delicious grilled cheese sandwich I enjoyed! The Mona Lisa was superb, with a crunch that made me feel like I was on a high-end cooking show. All the elements, including the slaw and pickle spear, worked together to make a delightful supper. The interior is adorable and cozy. I can't wait to go back for brunch.

Terrible experience. There was only one waiter on the main floor so it took extremely long just to take our order (40 mins). We ordered an omelette, the big breakfast and two coffees. Then we waited like another hour to get food. We reminded about the coffee, yet it was never served. When the food came we realized the portions were kinda small and my Big Breakfast was missing the toasts and bacon was burnt(I actually ordered sausages but they ran out). Overall, my scramble eggs were tasteless, the omelette was okay. No coffee. Cant believe people leave nice reviews about this place.

I absolutely loved going here. The food is fairly priced and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. From the art on the walls to the staff and just in general with the games and crafts they leave out for their customers, the experience I had was more than great! Will be going back soon to try the mac & cheese, but the breakfast was more than delicious

New restaurant in Westdale from the owners of the now closed Jack and Lois restaurant on James N. It's in a house and styled like a retro diner so it feels like you're eating in someone's home, very cozy and relaxed. I just had fries but they were great thick cut russet fries, and my family had burgers made from local beef, and they loved their burgers! Service was very friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that the mains don't come with fries etc just cole slaw, but my family was barely able to finish their burgers because they were so big, so sides aren't necessarily needed. Overall, great little homey diner with very nice staff, will definitely go back and will recommend to others :)

I came here because I saw pictures of their natural decor (gorgeous wallpaper with trees everywhere), AND I read great food/ brunch reviews in a local Hamilton newspaper (Urbanicity). I also really enjoyed their previous Jack and Lois restaurant on James St. N. (especially the patio). 2-Star because the food was meh... -luke warm, flavourless eggs, -bread wasn't great/ high quality - coffee was disappointing. I will not return.
