Carniceria Tapatia

I normally have a good experience at meat market but I went in today after not being there since the pandemic and they have changed. I initially ordered 3 lbs goat - something I’ve ordered many times over the years but the butcher didn’t weigh it where I could see it so when I got it - it didn’t look or feel like 3 lbs - he says yes it’s 3 lbs so I order two more pounds again he didn’t put on scale on top of counter. Shame on me for trusting them to be honest and double shame on them for cheating me. I weighed product on my own meat scale - still in their tied red bags and a friends meat scale immediately when I got home - only 5 minutes away and my 5 pounds of goat at 9.09/lb is only 3 lbs. I don’t know if they did it because I’m not Hispanic or what cause they weighed all the Hispanic customer items in front of them but I will never shop there again and all others consider this a warning

They have always treated us like family therefore they are family. There are only two places in town I recommend and this place is one of them. Many choices. Great place to get tacos, burritos, authentic Mexican dishes, tamales, pastries, candies,groceries, ice cream, ice cream, ice cream, wait did i mention the ice cream, and meats!

Since moving from Arizona, where amazing Mexican food restaurants are everywhere we have been searching for our new favorite food place. We stumbled across Carniceria Tapatia a few months ago and completely love it. We have probably had 1/2 the items on the menu so far and NOTHING has disappointed us. From Menudo and fautas, to Carne plates it's all wonderful. Staff is always wonderful, both at the restaurant and the store. Don't let the fact it's in a small shopping center fool you, it's very clean, and fun place to shop.
