Pizzeria Aguarina Estepona

I don't usually head for Italian restaurants while I'm in Spain as I can get pizza & pasta anywhere but my wife decided (told me) we would come here. I (we) weren't disappointed, really fantastic service by a couple of young lads & the maitre de. We ordered Prawns Pil Pil & garlic cheese bread followed by Entrecot steak & pork loin. The steak was cooked perfectly & was a good size, tasty & juicy, pork was spot on & a big portion too. Both came with fried potatoes and veg, absolutely cracking! We're back in Estepona next year so will visit again.

The atmosphere was amazing and the food was tasty. The only issue is we were hungry so ordered a garlic bread as a starter to eat while waiting for the main food. However it was slow and ended up coming with the main food. However I still give it a good rating as we will still go back as we still really enjoyed it.

After me and my friends had little boat trip we wanted to eat in a restaurant at the port of estepona. We found Aquarina as this was one of the few that was open around 18:00. Our waiter had this amazing accent, was very polite, had an extreme load of patients and was very funny. I was being a bit difficult because I didn't know what I wanted. The waiter kept his patients and answered honestly when I asked what his opinion was on a particular dish. I'm a person that very much values authenticity so this already really satisfied me. As the amazing starters were served, they accidentally also served my boyfriend's main dish. I went back inside and asked why. The waiter said he made a mistake in the orders and apologized. The main dish got taken back to the kitchen. As the main, I chose puttanesca. I always make this dish at home with sardines, but this one was with bacon. I wanted to give it a try but I personally did not like it. I did not really know what to do because I was kinda afraid for their reaction and I didn't want to come across rude. So I walked up to our waiter for that evening, with my plate, and said that I actually didn't like it and didn't know what to do right now. He went to the kitchen and then another person (or waiter or even manager) came to me and said that they will get it off from the bill since I didn't like it. I really appreciated this, because if I was to be at home (the netherlands) the restaurant wouldn't have done that. I ordered new food and was very happy with my choices and the service of course. There was only one thing that was a bit odd. When my new food got served, the/our waiter from the beginning of the night got switched with someone else. He was evenly polite, however, I would have loved to be served by the same person as at the start of the evening because in my opinion this was the best waiter I've ever experienced. As they really deserve my respect because of their politeness, customer service and great cooks, I obviously tipped them. After I paid, we even got a free shot. Furthermore the music was very good, there was a lot of space to sit and the interior looked attractive. Dishes me and my friends had I do recommend: Foccacias, prawn pil-pil (my friend even said she have never had a starter this good/delicious), entrecote, pasta with garlic and prawns, aquarina patatas with 3 sauces, garlic/cheese bread, pasta bolognese, salmon Unfortunately I forgot to make pictures of everything we had, but I do have a satisfying video of the prawn pil-pil!!
