First experience with Thai food, and was not disappointed. The red curry with shrimp had the perfect amount of spiciness

If you are looking for delicious drunken noodles or other Thai specialty, this place is a good place to go. If you're looking for SPICY drunken noodles or other Thai specialty, this is not the place to go.
The food is great, so I highly recommend, but compared to other Thai restaurants such as the Thai Eatery on Peach St, Khao's spice pales in comparison. Ranging from "American" to "Thai" in spice, I had Thai which was nothing more than a tingle.
Give it a go nonetheless, the food will not disappoint.

While visiting Erie for a 3 day weekend from Pittsburgh, we wanted some spicy food. Khao Thai was great, they accommodated my wife who has a gluten allergy. We had 5 in our party and all were very happy with equality and taste. The red curry and pad Thai were big hits. Tom Yum soup was very good also served in a unique heating bowl.
Megan our server was great, attentive, happy and always stopped by to see if we needed anything. She was great and genuinely a happy person who enjoys what she does and also was excited about the food she served.
We will be back for sure.

One evening in Erie so we chose this place for their vegan options. No regrets! Food was great, service was quick, and I was surprised by the large size of the portion for only $11 per entree. We got the drunken noodles with tofu and the spicy rice with tofu, plus the veggie rolls.

The tapioca in the Thai tea was very fresh and soft. We also tried the duck wings (10/10) and the Pho noodle soup which had pretty generous portions

Delicious food, attentive not smothering service and able to bring our own wine. We will be back. Level 2 spiciness just right!

My husband ordered carry out: one green and one red curry chicken. While we were eating, we found lots of burned pieces in both the curries. At first we thought it was black pepper but later we figured out the actual burned pieces. Disgusting! Check the pics

Went on a road trip to Erie and found this place. We were so excited to visit but unfortunatly by the time we finished college tours the restaurant was about to close. To be respectful we called about 20 - 30 minutes before closing and asked if we would be able to pick up a take out order once there. Because it was near closing time, we didnt want to be the person who came in 10 minutes before, so we called to ask if it was okay with them. The person on the phone we spoke to said yes. We drove there, the door is locked, no one is opening. We call them and this time a different pereon picks up, a woman, and says sorry we are closed despite the fact that someone else just told us we can drive to pick up takeout. So despite the fact that we called to respect that the restaurant was closing, we were tricked due to their lack of communication and we wasted gas, time, and money driving there. If you did not want to offer takeout, you should have just told us before we rushed and drove about a half hour to pick it up, when we called to ask. Absolutely disgusted at this.
