Torero's Mexican Restaurant

If you follow my restaurant reviews, you have by now figured out that I like Mexican food. Torero's is certainly in that category. Another authentic Mexican restaurant with a menu full of tasty regional cuisine from the interior of the country. The fish and seafood selection was reminiscent of the trios to the coastal parts near Cancun and the Yucatan peninsula. I ordered my usual chips and cheese dip. Their cheese was lightly flavored with jalapenos and had a bite that built and lingered, but did not overpower. Excellent start. I ordered a Coke in a bottle because they give that choice. It's not as carbonated as the fountain is. The salsa that accompanied the chips was more on the chili flavored side than is my liking, but enjoyable nonetheless. For my lunch plate, I ordered Tacos de Carbon. It was three corn tortillas with steak and sides of rice & bean, guacamole, and lettuce/tomato with a bit of cilantro. It reminded me of the street tacos I used to love so much. My wait person was friendly and attentive even though he also had a party of 15 seated in my section. He kept a watchful eye on my single person booth which indicated to me he was engaged and hard at work I paid the tab at the table and finished off my visit with some pictures of the place...enjoy y'all!! Ate here for dinner for the first time on a Friday night. We chose this restaurant based on the google reviews. The parking lot was packed, which is always a good sign. We were seated immediately upon entering. We ordered Burris tacos, hard shell tacos, and a food platter that had a variety of items (carne asada, Chile rellano, cheese enchiladas, and some sides). We received chips and salsa upon being seated. The waitress was nice, but only was at our table to take our drink and food order and once after we were beyond finished eating to check in. The food was good, served warm, the atmosphere was pleasant. They had on games on the TV, which pleased my husband. Overall, our family enjoyed our meal and we would come back. The service could have been a tad better.

The food is spectacular. This is by far the best Mexican food in Erie. Everything was so delicious and the salsa is spectacular. The service is very friendly and helpful too. I mean I could go on. The decor of the place feels authentic. The tamales are hearty and are definitely a good portion. The burritos have a lot of delicious meat and flavor and the chips and salsa combination is mouthwatering. If you live in Erie and have never been here, you need to go today. If you're visiting in one of the nearby hotels, get over there ASAP. You will not regret the decision.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in PA! We ordered the Choriqueso and it came out super fast and it was delicious. I got the chicken fajita quesadilla and everything was just delicious. I haven’t been able to find delicious Mexican food up here but now I have! Highly recommend to anyone looking for some good food.

The food was very dry, the enchiladas were bland. I asked if the beans were smooth they said yes! They were chunky and when I turned the pan upside down they never came out. So thick and very weird texture. The rice was sticky and fishy taste. I threw my meal out. My husband meal was just as bad we will stick with our regular place when we come to town in Erie next to the lake El Amigo!! Very authentic and better prices!! Save yourself some money and go here instead!! Decent food and delicious!!

Wow! What a great little place! Authentic Mexican with giant helpings at a great price! Delicious homemade chips and salsa. My quesadilla was the best I've had in years. Everything fresh and hot. Staff was prompt and attentive. Wheelchair accessible, although double door entry not motorized. Even my daughter's chicken fingers and fries were crisp and delicious! Would go back in a heartbeat!
