Sorry that I forgot to take pictures because the food was too delicious.
My boyfriend and I came to here again and both felt regretful we couldn’t come here more often as the restaurant doesn’t open after three.
Having said that, we will try making time for lunch here. It’s really worth the effort.

MaRoberts was the perfect find for my brother and I. Having been born and brought up in Tanzania it was very special to "go back" there without leaving Edinburgh and to experience warm Tanzanian hospitality, laughter and delicious authentic healthy fresh food. Asante sana. Such a shame I live south of the border, but I'll be back.

Absolutely delicious curry's and coffee - love this hidden gem of a place. They also have a stall at Leith markets on a Saturday which is worth a visit 🤤

Incredible hidden gem in Edinburgh!
The food was super tasty and healthy and we left feeling so happy. The staff were incredibly kind and it shows because we spoke to someone else there, who he says visits at least three times a week because the food so good..

Unbelievable flavor. I had the chicken tagine daily special with plantains and chapati, plus a chai; the tagine was some of the best tasting food I’ve ever eaten. The maandazi (fried cardamom bread) and karimati (banana doughnut) made an absolutely perfect dessert dipped in the chai. My only regret is that I didn’t get the large plate, as the portions are on the smaller end. Can’t recommend enough! Ate everything before I could think to take photos.

I ordered my Pilipili and I can testify is so delicious and spicy. I have tested a lot of spices this one is one of the best. If you love spicy you will definetly love this one. Highly recommend.

That's my recommendation to you...
it's a hidden gem that I thought I'd be brave to try with brilliant results... I'd never previously had Tanzanian food or known much about it, but found the menu really affordable with the options to mix and match really accessible (I today had a lovely chickpea curry with roasted chicken which I really enjoyed!.) The service too was also really friendly and super quick making the visit really nice all round. 🌟☕🍛

The food is full of fkavour, and the portions are substantial. I am from South Asia, so the warm spices tasted familiar but were also a nice change. The staff were lovely and I aldo bought a jar of fruity sauce.

Amazing food and incredible experience! I walked in and got a free sample of all their main dishes and rice (which were all fantastic). Lots of vegan options available!
